I need a pair of those rose colored glasses...

that DH and BM apparently have when it comes to sKids because I honestly just don't see it.

They aren't bad kids - I mean I have seen worse - I guess I am just not as easily impressed as they are. But I am getting better about just shaking my head and walking away. If they are okay with it then I can be too.

I think its funny (in a sad way) though that sKids have been here less than 24 hours and there are already so many things that would make a normal person stop and think "really?"

Today I sent SS7 to school with tooth paste in his hair (I did try to get it out) because he tried to brush his hair with his tooth brush. I sent him in the bathroom to brush his hair and teeth (i got it all ready and laid it all out on the counter for him as usual), when I heard her say "oh no" I went to check on him. I asked him what was wrong and he made some weird gesture to me and said "You know?". I replied with "No I really don't know. What did you do?" He replied to me that he got tooth paste in his hair and how it got there, which by the way is not something I would have ever guessed because logical people don't mistake their tooth brush for their hair brush.

SS7 also bit his lip this morning and it was bleeding but I didn't say anything to him because then he just freaks out. He apparently never noticed.

Last night BM dropped SKids off tired as usual. We asked SS7 when the last time he had a bath was and he said Thursday. We asked when the last time he put lotion on was and he said today but he did it himself. So we got him in the shower and he is all broke out, like really bad. He told DH that he hadn't noticed it but you could tell were he had been scratching it. DH txt'ed Bm to tell her about it and she called him back wondering what he was 'accusing' her of. He said nothing he was just letting her know. She said that they had a bath last night he was not broke out - seriously BM if you are going to lie you need to start coordinating your lies with SS7 but it's hard to tell if SS7 knows what he is talking about he usually can't remember what he had for breakfast. He says they stayed at Grandma's house last night so how would BM know? She was probably doing the pub crawls.

SS7 also managed to sit on BOTH of my cats last night. The first I let slide because the cat was by the window covered by a curtain and SS7 went to sit on the chest (that he is not supposed to sit on) and knock the cat into the window to which it moved and glared at him. Then later I was down working in my art area when SS7 came down to read. I watched him climb into the 'bucket' chair and sit right on my other cat. The cat meowed and surprisingly enough didn't run away. I told him he was sitting on her and he turned a little to see her and said "Oh I didn't see her". The cat finally got out from under him and got down. She came over and sat by me for awhile. I don't think he hurt her. AS for not seeing her, she is 13lbs and build like a horse. It was a light blanket in the chair and she is a dark grey cat. Even if he didn't see her I would have thought he would have felt or heard her!

SS5 hasn't been too bad but he s so bossy lately. I think it may be and age thing.

Also they are getting SS7 tested in June for an attention problem. I don't point things out any more though because they both just tell me "He is just a little boy." - He'll be 8 in May. He's not that little.

I can totally relate to the "really!?!" moments. Sometimes you can watch my skids and think they are regular 10 and 11 yr olds. But then they do or say something and its like the world stops for a moment because you can't wrap your head around what the F they could possibly be thinking.

Last night I had ss's clothes folded on the table and I called him to come get it and put it away. He looked at the clothes then stuck his head in the door to the living room where I was..." Do you want me to put all this clothes away?" ??!!?? No SS, I want you to put half of it away and leave the other half on the dining room table for two days....no I just want you to put the pants away, leave the shirts....only put every third article of clothing away. I mean, what did he expect me to say....what exactly was he questionng that he felt the need to come find me to confirm that he had to put ALL his clothes away?

Nice, I could see SS7 saying that. I don't ask him to put his cloths away himself yet... sadly I don't think he is ready for that responsibility. Most of the time if I ask him to grab a shirt or socks he tells me he doesn't know where they are.

My skids do that too! Its like they can't help but do exactly what you tell them not to. Its like almost a compulsion to do the wrong thing. Whatever you ask them not to do, is the very next thing g they are doing.

I agree...I know that I definitely have the "hard wiring" to love my boy, but BF's boy...ugh if only there was an island I could drop him off at...permanently!!! }:)

There is NOTHING cute about a skid!!! It would be "cute" if they took a long walk off of a short pier but that's just my opinion on the matter.... Wink

Yeah, yeah I know I am a cold, heartless bitch...*yawn* Smile

I see no redeeming qualities in SS8. I thought I saw them in SS13, but after the hellish weekend we just had...no. He's not the kid I thought he was. Dumbass behavior is not cute. Being purposely cruel is not cute. Even DH's rose-colored glasses are off. Thank God!
