This site has truly changed my life and, I agree, I feel more comfortable sharing my life with a bunch of
"strangers" (not really anymore) than with my own family.

Actually, the more we get to know each other, the more we all have in common.

Good luck with your SS, btw....my son (24!!) still
isn't talking to me because I said NO to his "bouncing around" (staying at my house, eating all my food, leaving stuff all over the place, then
going to my mom's so I can't "find him"). The
longer they are allowed to be "little boys", the
harder their life will be. Some day he'll thank me
for those two little letters: NO! (He's also paying
his OWN bills for the first time in his life; 'bout
time!!)

for you to do that to your own sons speaks volumes to me cuz I keep telling FH that I would do the same to my BSs' and I would, I kicked him out when his deadline to find a job ran out.
guess what he found a job and moved back in and is now paying rent and still helps around the house.

it is like he looking at his son in rose colored glasses.
he just buys all the bsht his son spews.

I am also thankful that Thanksgiving falls on BM's regularly scheduled overnight or she would have refused to keep her tomorrow night.

And I am thankful that DH and I are actually going to leave BD with my family after dinner is over (we're eating early-1pm then all the little cousins are making gingerbread houses with my mom and SIL.)

We are going on a DATE on Thanksgiving!!!

I feel like a teenager sneaking away from the family as soon as we can. Wink

Can't wait for him to get here. And I'm gonna shower him with love-of course, gotta hold myself in a bit as he's like me-can't stand "clingy".

I am thankful H will be on call Friday. If he has to go work (the location he's on call for is an hour away), there would be no point in the leeches staying here, now would there?

I'm thankful for my Dr. helping me control the migraines-I'm so much more productive without them!

I'm so thankful to still have my dear parents. Told them last nite-we were talking money, Dad says if they don't spend theirs, they'll be more for us when they're gone. I told them I'd rather have them than all the riches in the world. And I mean it.

I'm thankful for you all. Sometimes I'm on here what sees like waaay to much, but writing it all out, getting your input into this bizarre stuff, has given me the insight to see things exactly for what they are. After all, a Rose still a rose by any other name (or should I have said a leech is a leech by any other name?).

For those of you who have skids with you on the holiday-sneak in a glass or two while you're doing the holiday thing. Enjoy, disengage-and go get a good book to read so you can disappear from your H & skids all afternoon!

Happy Thanksgiving.

I am thankful for the many friends I have made on here as well. I do not know if I would have made it through the last year without you. Some homorable mentions - Bellacita, STEPWITCH, Sia, SitaTara, Crayon, Colorado Girl and Anabihibik - I love you guys!! I also look forward to continuing to get to know the crop of newbies on here - you ladies are wonderful too!! I wish you all a very happy and drama free Thanksgiving!!

Over the past few years, I have been through a lot of stress and I haven't always been appreciative for what I have in my life. I have been thinking about this a lot lately, so here's my list.

Finding this site and hopefully to building future friendships with you ladies (and gentlemen!) This site has shed a lot of light on my situation and helped me tremendously in a short time.

My parents, for being there for me, ALWAYS, and for my mom who is my best friend. I am thankful too that I have been able to give back to them this past year and help them when they have needed it.

For my friends in "real life." While they don't have step children and don't necessarily understand my situation, they are supportive and wonderful, not to mention FUN.

My dog...he makes me feel special every single day!! Nothing like coming home to his smiling face and wagging tail!!! Just thinking about him, makes me smile.

And last but not least, I am thankful that I have found a wonderful man who loves me and who I love too (baggage and all!)

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

the love that I have all around me, from both family, and friends (real life&steptalk) But this year I'm mostly thankful for my little boy, who I continue to learn and grow from everyday! Love you Elijah :)"~waiting on the world to change~"

having a job that I love and that "allows" me to spend so much time here at StepTalk.

I'm thankful for this site. All of your ideas and rants and knowledge about steplife has helped me feel so much more sane, it's unbelievable.

I'm thankful that the man I love does not let his kids run all over me despite BM's attempts at PAS. After what I've read here, I count my blessings with every "What did she just tell you?" that passes his lips when they try to ignore me.

I'm thankful for my grandmother who's celebrating her 90th birthday, my mom, brother, SIL and nephew. All of whom I don't get to see nearly enough, but thanks to the lower gas prices, FH and I get to go visit this weekend!

I'm thankful for all of you. You have been a true blessing to me. I'm thankful and grateful that my sons are alright and that I have 3 beautiful grandchildren. Smile

I am thankful for my son's (SS) new found character and confidence.

I am thankful for my parents, brother and his family. I won the parent lottery and have had my brother as my life long best friend.

I am thankful for my job. I had to lay off 20% of my work force last Friday and I can assure you that that sucked immensely. However, I was able to keep 110 others working. My prayers and best wishes are with those that I lost.

I am thankful for my my friends both in my life and in this community. Thanks for sharing the trials and tribulations of Sparenting.

Happy thanksgiving to all.

Best regards,

I am thankful to be back with my husband. I am thankful that he's been working very hard to stay sober (and he has been). I am thankful that I don't have all the issues some of you have. I am thankful that I have food to eat, clothes to wear and a roof over my head.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
