O/T So, how nasty should I get with my insurance adjuster?

Rags's picture

This individual is a useless waste of skin.

I filed the claim online while the hail was still pounding my car nearly 3wks ago.  I took the car to the repair shop that the insurance company directed me to get the estimate from. It was useless. That shop, the one my insurance company sent me to, does not do hail repairs. Their estimator told me that the estimate was not accurate and could be as much as $10K low compared the actual repair costs.

I engaged with the Adjuster who assured me that their recommended shop would not have done an estimate if they could not do an accurate one.  The Adjuster also said that he would work with the shop of my choice to address any additional repairs beyond the estimate.

So, we are now 17days post first contact with the Adjuster, 16 days after the estimate, and 16 days after I dropped my car off af the repair shop.  No insurance company approval to start repairs yet.

The moron Adjuster, who sent me to the first shop for an estimate, told me that they would work with my chosen shop, has been telling me for more than 2wks that they have to get another estimator to the inspect the car.

I am livid.

I have escalated the heat of my interface with the Adjuster over the past 10 days. Today, I had enough and called the Adjuster's boss.  No answer... yet. But I left a pointed message.

I am ready to put a hit out on this moron waste of skin POS.

For 20 years I held an All Lines Adjuster's license and have worked well over 1000 catastrophe claims.  If I had failed my policy holders the way this dipshit is failing me I would be insulted.

A very cutting message is written and staged where I intend to impugn this POS's parentage, ineptitude, and complete lack of professionalism, intelligence, and call out their sub human genetics.

Grrrrrrrr!

Probably a good idea to hold off on hitting send on that.

How brutal should I be going after this moron?  I intend to give its boss clarity, and once again call my agent to let them know that I am considering changing companies due to the ineptitude of this shit service.

Thoughts.

Are a day late ???  The insurance company's are ready to cancel you . Unfortunately we can't cancel them.  Just go from one bad company to another bad company

Not just insurance.   Went to a fish market recently.   Background info: NYS has waged a war on plastic bags.  You either have to BYOBag, carry out groceries on your own or get charged for a store bag.  Counter lady handed me two netted bags of clams over the counter dripping wet.  No bags for you.  Totally insane!

Just found out my insurance carriers for the rentals (I go through a broker) have been charging me extra for vacant units when they've been fully occupied.   Only one company would reimburse me going back to Oct 2022.

Took 2.5 weeks to even START an auto damage claim when a trash truck totalled Chef's work van.  On top of that NYS (downstate) has the LOWEST small claims court dollsr amount limit outside of KENTUCKY!  Which is ridiculous bc NYS is notoriously expensive.

I have to go pro se to try to recover damages outside of the blue book value of the work van in county court.  About 10X the value limit of small claims but too small for any attorney to touch it since there was no personal injury.

Might I be so bold as to recommend all those that are unhappy with their carriers to look into Amica. I have had them for years and their service (couple of claims - one home, one auto) and standard communication are excellent. Rates are good too - and in qualifying areas, you can get a divided policy. I get 20% or more of my homeowners yearly cost returned as a dividend. And my policy is less expensive than other carriers have offered.

No harm in looking...
