Guess who got up and handled the skids this morning?

DH.

Anyone else as shocked as I am?

Only exception was I did SD6's hair. She wanted pigtails and bows. lol.  But it took about 4 seconds becuase I braided her hair last night, so it was completely tangle free!

But hey! Apparently our little arguement got through to him finally!  Here's to it continuing!

I hope he does a better job with following through than my DH. We argue & he changes his behavior for a minute & then back to Disney Dad/lazy dad(he's not a lazy person but he's a lazy dad. Would rather look the other way than see the skids'  shortcomings.

Keep us updated

Now for some positive reinforcement - You did a great job with the girls this morning.  Thanks for lightening my load. I could see that the girls liked getting daddy attention this morning. I think you doing this every day is going to be a big benefit for our family.

Whatever it takes. This is something he *should* be doing.

I agree with positive reinforcement, but I'm not so sure that I would thank him for lightening my load, when it's really his load to begin with!

I catch myself thanking my DH if he unloads the dishwasher and I think, "Wait, why am I thanking him?" Those are OUR dishes and it's not just MY job! I mean, I would rather do it, he puts stuff in weird places, but....

And I would be careful not to lay it on too thick, lest it creep into manipulation (which is what he was trying to use on you).

We don't have to thank people for doing regular householdy type things they'd have to do anyway if we weren't around? That's exactly what my DH wants. He basically wants me to thank him for every single thing he does.

Haha! I know, right?

My DH will tell me that he vacuumed. Ok, thank you for sacrificing 2 minutes of your time. Now, watch me and see how vacuuming is REALLY done. 'Cuz it takes more than 2 minutes. I have a really funny story about vacuuming but....

Don't get me wrong, DH does things that I hate to do, like laundry and cooking, but still.
