Who in there right mind would do this?!?!?!

:O Ok-the more my bf shares the more I realize what kind of crazy bm he deals with.

His ex lives w/her mom and her moms husband (guess that would be stepdad). According to my ex the stepdad (his D stepgrandpa I guess) is the only redeemable of the bunch.

But...he foudn out the other day that when his D gets back from school bus (she's 9!), the grandma normally arrives 20-40min after that-

Ok so fine-if she has a key, 9 is a little young but she's mature for her age, if it's only a little while-she can come home, lock up and wait. WELL...come to find out the grandma has been making the girl wait ON THE PORCH until she gets home. WHAT THE F'in F! Pardon my outburts. But who the hell does that? What are they thinking? Anyone can drive by and see a kid on the porch daily, know the routine...what if a stranger approaches, or a dog, or it's raining....or ..it's just insane!

I mean wouldn't it be safer for her to go inside, lock the door and have a phone, and watch cartoon for a few moments?

Our state doesn't have a legal leave at home age, my boys are 9 and 11 and i've gone out grocery shopping down the road-or pick up foor or errands-up to an hr-but they are in a locked house with a phone and very trusted neighbors-we've lived here their whole lives. I would never dream of locking them out of the house!!

His ex and her mom/stepdad and my bf's daugther moved there only some months ago-his biggest pet peeve is that this stupid ex has transfered the little girl from school to school 6 TIMES now and she's in 5th grade.

I can't imagine why they would think it's ok for her to wait outside-if anything goes awry she can't even go inside? I was enraged! I don't care if it's 20-30minutes. What aholes!! My bf was calming me down and then said this is why i can't tell you this stuff...my bf's dad and him have been discussing talkign to cps about it. I mean-are they not ok w/her being in the house alone for a reason?? makes me wonder. HOw is her mom ok w/this??

I think a friendly call to the local cops about an unattended child locked out of their house is in order . . .

Call the polics and then if it comes up deny you did it. That is not safe for a child. I waited until my son was at least 11 to leave him home alone. Even then for a few minutes to go to the store. Very irresponsible on all three adults part living in that house. Is there no after school program she can go to.

Let us know how it goes.

OMG :jawdrop: I am in shock I can;t believe it. That poor girl! I would call the police too and PROUDLY say YES I did it, what makes you think that is a good idea to leave a young GIRL out side on the porch for that long? Besides winter is coming and she would be outside in the cold! WOW :jawdrop:

She used to go to after school-so I'm assuming that has just changed this year? i'm sure the bf will try to very diplomatically try to find out more about it.

It's the being locked out that bothers me. She is a very mature girl, and could perfectly handle herself for 30min inside during the day. But, INSIDE.

I really dont' feel it's my place to act on this-and I don't know where she lives. My bf and his dad are discussing more and coming up w/something quickly for sure. It seemed insane to me.

What makes them think to even do this?
