SD Thinks she can rule the house

Nani Sue's picture

I have a SD, 16, that thinks she can rule the house. Now my DH normally lets her get away with everything. But let me tell you never give up hope finally after 11 years of hell, she has shown her true colors to DH. I go to college at night, to complete my BA, but mainly so I don't have to go home and deal with the SD. She told her Auntie last summer that her main mission in life was to come between me and DH so that she could get what she wants all the time. Anyway, last week DH came home and told SD to clean up her room and mess in the kitchen, she informed him that, she had told me my place in the house and that was for me to clean, buy her what she wants and to cook the meals so that everyone eats the same thing. Well at last this did not go over well, so in a last ditch effort she tells DH that I come home and called her a B***h. Needless to say I go straight to class after work, and never stop at the house first. Hope that DH remembers this for a long time to come, and let there be the beginning of peace in the house.

But in the mean time I would like to share a peom a friend sent me, after sharing and venting to her almost on a daily basis. Bless her.

Enjoy:

DON'T MESS WITH MOM

My son came home from school one day,
With a smirk upon his face.
He decided he was smart enough,
To put me in my place.

'Guess what I learned in Civics Two,
that's taught by Mr. Wright?
It's all about the laws today,
The 'Children's Bill of Rights.'

It says I need not clean my room,
Don't have to cut my hair
No one can tell me what to think,
Or speak, or what to wear.

I have freedom from religion,
And regardless what you say,
I don't have to bow my head,
And I sure don't have to pray.

I can wear earrings if I want,
And pierce my tongue & nose.
I can read & watch just what I like,
Get tattoos from head to toe.

And if you ever spank me,
I'll charge you with a crime.
I'll back up all my charges,
With the marks on my behind.

Don't you ever touch me,
My body's only for my use,
Not for your hugs and kisses,
that's just more child abuse.

Don't preach about your morals,
Like your Mama did to you.
That's nothing more than mind control,
And it's illegal too!

Mom, I have these children's rights,
So you can't influence me,
Or I'll call Child Protective Services
Better known as C.P.S

Of course my first instinct was
To toss him out the door.
But the chance to teach him a lesson
Made me think a little more.

I mulled it over carefully,
I couldn't let this go.
A smile crept upon my face,
he's messing with a pro.

Next day I took him shopping
At the local Goodwill Store.
I told him, 'Pick out all you want,
there's shirts & pants galore.

I've called and checked with C.P.S.
Who said they didn't care
If I bought you K-Mart shoes
Instead of those Nike Airs.

I've canceled that appointment
To take your driver's test.
C.P.S. Is unconcerned
So I'll decide what's best.'

I said 'No time to stop and eat,
Or pick up stuff to munch.
And tomorrow you can start to learn
To make your own sack lunch.

Just save the raging appetite,
And wait till dinner time.
We're having liver and onions,
A favorite dish of mine.'

He asked 'Can I please rent a movie,
To watch on my VCR?'
'Sorry, but I sold your TV,
For new tires on my car.

I also rented out your room,
You'll take the couch instead.
C.P.S. Requires
Just a roof over your head.

Your clothing won't be trendy now,
I'l l choose what we eat.
That allowance that you used to get,
Will buy me something neat.

I'm selling off your jet ski,
Dirt-bike & roller blades.
Check out the 'Parents Bill of Rights',
It's in effect today!

Hey hot shot, are you crying,
Why are you on your knees?
Are you asking God to help you out,
Instead of C.P.S.'

I would have no teeth if I would have said something like that @ 16...hell if I said something like that now...and I'm an adult...WOOOOOWWW! She's a BOLD one!!

DH proceeded to her room and took all her clothes, TV, Radio, etc, leaving only 3 changes of clothes, "school uniforms", and told her when she could demonstrate respect and acceptable behavior she might get one article of clothing back. That CPS (Child Protective Services) only requires that the child have 3 changes of clothes.
I say hurray for him. Now she can think about what the outcome of her mouth can result in. I know I should not feel this way, but after 11 years its hard, but we are going on vacation to 6 Flags and all she has is school uniforms, justice in small victories.

My Dh never did anything like that to SD, he only yelled at her, which didnt help. It's good to feel those small victories, I know!! I hope you get some peace in your house. After my SD16 moved out, it has been so damn peaceful. I know what you mean about not wanting to feel glad about things like that, but I too put up with it far to long and am so happy she is gone!!! Wouldn't like to have been a fly on the wall to see the look on her face? I am assuming you weren't there. Boy that would have been priceless! I liked the poem!
