Totally OT oh hair where art thou?

I have been growing out a very bad cut I had 6 months ago that was lopsided and left a heavy chunk on one side.

My hair is medium long. I have a new hairdresser and during the first appt we discussed what to do and she said it would take at least two appts to get things back on track. Ok, so she trimmed it and it was looking a bit better. I had to let it grow 3 months and made another appointment.

I took a photo of what I was aiming at. Her colleague cut it though, I should have specified that I wanted her to do it. Showed the pic to the colleague, OK she says and then off she went. Scissor happy. She took a whole 6 inches off it! Trouble is, after the first cut there's no going back is there? Otherwise I would just have a large chunk missing.

I ended up with a bob. Above the collar. Yuck, i havent had my hair so short in 25 years. Doesn't suit me, nothing wrong with the cut itself but that IS not what was In the pic.

So i went home and cried, even DH was upset as he likes me with longer hair. So, please send thought waves to my hair to grow, grow, grow.!

I know in the scheme of things there are much worse things happening for people here but oh crikey, it's horrible going around with hair you hate.

Just want to add that this seems to be a thing in this country. Once, I had to shout STOP! to one who kept taking more and more off, this despite me saying that I o ly wanted a trim, just the ends. What is wrong with them?!

There are supplements that you can try but biotin is cheap and really does improve hair and nail growth.  Sorry that you had a bad series of cuts but the good thing is that hair grows.  I used to model and you could get your hair "trimmed" along with the style before a job.  Sometimes the idea of a trim was more like a major cut before you even blinked.  Surprise!  It will be back where you want it soon.  In the meantime check on the web for some different ways to style the bob.  You may find waving it or flat ironing or a different part that you like better.

Thanks, it is better left to curl a bit, my hair is naturally curly any way. It looks hideous flat ironed or dried smooth, like a dog with floppy ears.

I'm going to try the biotin like you said and massaging the scalp is supposed to speed up growth too.

Ugh I hate when they cut off more than you specified. Take hydrolyzed collagen powder. It works really well for strengthening the hair and growing faster. Vital proteins, Dr Axe, perfect collagen are all good brands.

Oh my worst cut was by a stylist who said, "Yes of course" she knew how to cut curly hair. I had my glasses off during the procedure and at one point ahe said something like it's better for curly hair to be cut short, right? OMG. I pretty much stopped her at that point. I was wearing a headband for a month straight. My friends were even like, ohhhhh noooo.

It will grow!

I’ve had way more bad cuts than good ones, I can only count twice when I didn’t leave the stylists wanting to cry.. I hated sitting in that chair, I was totally THAT client that micromanaged the entire appointment.  So, I just started cutting it myself! Been cutting it for years, no intention of letting someone else touch my head again.
