Easter Bunny

littlelucy's picture

SD16 and SS12 are aware there is no such thing as the Easter bunny. I have been the "bunny" for the past several years, but I checked out of their lives after suffering their atrocities over Thanksgiving weekend. There is no more cooking, cleaning, laundry, band-aids, you name it - its all DH's responsibility. So, I am NOT going to be the bunny this year. DH gets offended when I remind him of my limits. Question is, do I remind him in case there is something he'd like to do, or wait until the little monsters remind him the night before?

Mums the word! He needs to handle EVERYTHING including knowing what day of the year it is on the calendar.

If you remind him, there's always the risk that he says, "I don't know what to do. Can you just do it for me?" Personally, I'd have a hard time saying no to that. So, I vote that you say nothing so as not to get roped, guilted or otherwise coerced into doing it.

It depends. If there is going to be an argument either way, I'd take the path that involves less arguing.

been there done that. i started out reminding fdh of what he needed to do, but i stopped. if i have to remind him, then it's still me that is getting it done, and sd doesn't deserve the benefit of me reminding him to remember her for whatever. don't remind him. make baskets for your kids if you have any and call it good. that's what i do. it's his own damn problem if nothing is done for his kids.
