"Not everyone has to go back to court..."

BM recently got a new apartment and needed the CS agreement for the leasing company to prove she had enough income for the place.

Apparently the leasing agent made a comment to BM about how she needed to take DH back to court to get the agreement modified since it had been so long and so she could get more money.

BM relays this story to DH and ends with, "I mean, not everyone has to go back to court for every little thing."

That's absolutely correct, but do you want to know WHY you don't have to with DH?

Because the first time around you took basically everything. His vehicles, his kids - but you did leave him with your debt.

And now, because he's trying to be upstanding, he gives BM an adjusted amount of CS based on his income using the online calculator (yes, yes, it should go through court, but DH was screwed over once and doesn't want to get screwed over again - nor does he want to tell BM what his salary is).

Oh, and DH covers the kids on insurance. And puts money away for them for college. And buys all their school clothes, school supplies, winter gear, haircuts, socks, shoes, underwear...

What on God's green earth could you POSSIBLY take him back for?!

The whole exchange just made my eyes cross. The audacity of the leasing agent to even comment was laughable, but for BM to act like her and DH are somehow friends in this whole thing who have worked out a mutually-beneficial agreement? BAHAHAHA!

Oh man, so how is everyone else's weekend going so far?

First of all, CS is not necessarily dependable income so it's weird that they would take it into consideration.

Second, what the hell is it to the leasing agent? He/she should mind his/her own business.

Thank God, we are done with all that.

As far as CS not being reliable income, financial aid offices were treating the $100,000 back support owed my sister as an ASSET that she could take a loan against for my niece's and nephew's college education expenses. Because he was going to magically start paying one day? She had to get a letter from the guidance counselor both times stating the father's whereabouts were unknown.

I think I usually see a line for CS "income" "if you wish to have it considered."

I was equally surprised that they considered it based off the CO. I could *possibly* see them letting BM turn in 6 months or a year's worth of documentation showing DH's payments to her CS account through the state, similar to how you could show pay stubs for part-time income.
