BM's Surgery today...hoping she's in lots of pain

Justwantsomepeace's picture

BM has a habit of faking illnesses to get attention/sympathy/drugs. Most notably she faked brain cancer to avoid paying her mom back 30K a few years ago, and basically badgered her gyn to have a hysterectomy (she and DH were still married at the time and says the doctor only did it to shut her up). There have been many other smaller fakes like having her arm in a sling for 2 months for a mysterious ailment. Always at opportune times for which she receives some benefit.

So we were about to have a CS review 6 months ago (we are custodial) and her amount would increase from $151 per month to $961 per month. A week later, she is visiting all kinds of doctors for all kinds of ailments. She stops working, goes on disability with a nerve disorder in her face. This disease has no positive test and is diagnosed by symptoms only. She gets lots of pain meds, doesn't have to work (her life's goal), sympathy from her BF/skids etc. oh, and of course CS can't be changed since she's on disability.

So today she had "brain surgery" for the nerve in her face. I understand that the recovery is painful. Wonder if she will be cured? They I'm sure will have shaved part of her head. Her hair is SUPER important to her, so I'm really sad about that.

Waiting to see what new drama this will bring.

Doesn't there have to be tests performed and surgery takes place if the results show up abnormal? That seems rather extreme if not.

In theory, yes. It seems that with this disorder the blood vessel touches the nerve intermittently, so a negative test is possible. They go in and move the blood vessel permanently so it won't happen again.

She's getting disability from her job, not the government, so nothing for the kids. This is the second time she's gotten a decent job, worked just long enough to qualify for their benefits, then gone on disability. With this one, she wouldn't even tell the kids where she worked because they would "tell us". They are 16 & 17 so it was very strange to them that she hid it from them. It took a year of hassling CSE to find her job and as soon as they did this happened.

She did that stuff with the kids too. My favorite was taking SD22, then 16 to the ER because she had a cold and couldn't breathe. Guess who had to pay that bill? Oh, and it just happened to be while DH and I were on our first trip out of town together and had to come home.

We started calling her bluff in court, when she claimed some illness we asked for her medical records. If she introduces it, it's fair game. It totally pisses her off that we ask. You can see the flames shooting out of her eyes.

I am gobsmacked!

How do you fake brain cancer?

Just speechless.

Nope, really have no words. I cannot fathom this.

Why????

OMG

Brain surgery? for a fake illness?

.....

*shaking head in amazement*

Ahhhhhh - now I see the benefits LOL

Still amazed and gobsmacked though.

I agree with Just Wow, talk about tempting fate.

She only fakes illnesses that someone she knows has had. Her aunt had just died of brain cancer, so she knew all the buzzwords. She "went" to chemo a few times and then we never heard anything else about it...too hard to fake losing your hair I guess.

The cancer then turned into the doctor telling her that it was no longer cancer, but it was because her brain was too small for her head. DH said duh! I've known that for years.

To clarify, this time she said she was having brain surgery, but you can't believe anything she says. We know she had surgery, and if this is real she must have tempted fate too many times. The boy who cied wolf and all that.

Oh ROFLMAO - her brain was too small for her head - that is priceless!!! And they mistook it for cancer?

That is the best laugh I have had in days, thank you so much for that.

If you knew her it would be even funnier. One of the reasons she hates me is because I'm smarter than she is. However, she is one step above moron so that isn't saying much.

Oh, and evidently her BF told the surgeon he wanted him to fix some other things while he was poking around in there. Just what every Crazy BM wants to hear
