It's been a relatively peaceful couple of weeks since my oldest step son was tossed out of the nest, to go spread his wings (and attitude) elsewhere. We did have the incident where he showed up at "the kids" house (my kids and sd19s house) and attempted to talk sd19 over to 'his side' of the fight. Didn't work. And he got his a$$ kicked by my son in the process.

He has tried talking all members of the family (DH and BMs families) into seeing his side and they have all essentially told him he was dead wrong and they would not support him, his growing violence towards women and his utter lack of remorse.

He is still going to school. He is still working at his job. He appears to be staying with a friend of his' family, which is good at least he has a roof over his head. The school did try to get involved last week, counselor called DH and attempted to guilt him into working things out with his son, DH simply disconnected the call. He stated the counselor was very hard of listening and did not/ refused to hear that the childs physical violence was a threat to the family that DH was not willing to chance (not to mention the pesky- I own the house and that kid is NOT moving back in fact)

Ss18 is keeping in touch with his siblings via facebook though it's more sharing silly meme's and cartoons than actual communication.

Some of you might remember my past issues with sd16 and her being stuck on herself. Conceited.

Well, mother nature is teaching the kid a lesson.
The braces that she used to refer to as her "grill" have undergone an overhaul. Teeth were not moving correctly so heavy springs are now in play and all those pretty colored bands are gone replaced by silver and black- the crap that is needed to move her teeth didnt come in delicate girly colors and when the kid currently smiles it looks like each tooth has a giant cavity right on the surface.

Then came eye exam time. Yes, she needed glasses. DH refused contacts for now, states he wants to see how responsible she can be with the glasses before he allows contacts.

So the beauty queen is now saddled with glasses (yeah, her request for coach frames was laughed at. She got one of the frames on sale for $75)and ugly braces. I have not seen the kid look in a mirror for more than a minute to brush hair/teeth in WEEKS!
