You know that feeling that you get... when you realise your boss really and truly has your back?

Throughout this ordeal with DH's kids and BM, my boss has been great. She never questioned why I needed time off, sometimes at a moments notice. Never got onto me even when my ppo bank was empty, and there was a full day of court ahead of me without time off in the bank.

I did tell her we were having issues with DH's kids. Did not express how deep the issues went. How bad things had gotten. I had this nagging feeling that she either knew what was going on and understood without being told, or I was about to get canned. (which would have really upset me, I truly LIKE my job).

I got my evaluation today. Apparently I am doing a good job and there were no negative marks against me for attendence, despite the fact that my ppo bank is in the negatives by 8 hours. At the end of the evaluation I was asked if I had any questions and I had to ask why my attendence did not have a "needs improvement". By all rights it should.

My boss answered in writing. On a piece of paper separate from my evaluation paperwork. This web site. And her login/ handle on here.

S: going on record now: you freaking ROCK as a boss! It is a relief unlike any I have ever known to know my boss truly 'gets' it. Understands and can commiserate. And thanks for the offer to vent face to face if needed!

That is wonderful.
My boss was similar when I separated and divorced my ex. the reasons behind the divorce took a serious toll on me and I missed so much work or left early cause it was making me so ill. Once I finally pulled myself together I went and thanked her for not firing me, she said "I've been there, been to hell of divorce right after our daughter died from leukemia I never faulted you for what you were going through because I understand loss."
As hard as she can be sometimes I will never forget how great she was to me then.

I thought I was doing good when I had the supervisor that understood my migraines, you hit the jackpot!! Keep it up S, I'd like some tips on being a good supervisor, I just got promoted last month! Hey J,

You owe a thank you to the ladies on here. Remember the Friday I told you guys to take off early? That I would clock you all out for five? It was these ladies that prompted me into doing it.

Keep up the good work. Both at work and at home.

S

PS: You should have known something was up when this site was not blocked by IT Wink
