So freaking sd16 has bed bug bites all over her from her bm's house. Why do people want to live that way??? She wants to live with BIO MOM! Fine go! I'm done. if I get freakin bed bugs at my house because of her. my dh will have hell to pay for you will see an all new kind of crazy. I can't wait to finish this shit with the lawyer. I love this girl but if she really wants her nasty ass mom over us forget it. This is my last draw!

OMG, good luck not getting them in your house too. They can ride in in shoes, backpack, etc.

And they can live a year without eating. They can live in outlets. Those things are the devil to eliminate.

Everything that can't be washed in warm water needs to go into the freezer for 1 to 2 days. That includes shoes, purses, bookbags, etc.

And I would notify CPS if SD is covered in bites and no effort to exterminate by BM.

I was in hotel management for years.....

Go into SD's room and lift the mattress up and look at the corner of the fitted sheets. You are looking for little black dots, that's their waste. The actual bed bugs themselves look like apple seeds.

But if BM has them and SD is transporting her belongings between houses, bite the bullet and call an exterminator. You probably have them already.

My DH is an exterminator and said that bed bugs can live up to 14 months without being fed. He said your best bet is to take everything out of all her bags and inspect for bed bugs outside of the home; in a safe place. Bedbugs look like apple seeds and their excrement looks like blood.

Look at all 4 corners of the bed she sleeps in and baseboards. If you see any of the above, you have a bed bug problem. At that point, you'll need to call in an experienced exterminator to resolve the issue.

Hope that helps and good luck.

My neighbor has them now. They are on their third round of treatment. It takes A LOT of work and money to get rid of the bugs, if you can.

It's been a while, but I have taken care of her cats on occasion and am now terrified that she may ask me again. I don't know what I would say but I cannot risk one hitching a ride home on me. I would freak. Sad

does tea tree help for bed bugs?

I would spray everything them and burn the candle in my house... will spray cat before he comes over

JustAgirl42's picture

'will spray cat before he comes over' - ha, no, poor kitty cannot be sprayed. But, your tea tree oil idea might be good if I have to go to their house - I can rub it all over me.

Is there anything that you could put all over your clothes that would at least deter them? (For instance, I wouldn't want to be on someone that reeked of b.o., ha.)
