Left some stuff there

honey0's picture

I left some stuff at my ex-FDH's place and I have no idea how to pick it up. It's weekend, so there's a good chance that the house will be full of SD's friends, and I really don't feel comfortable going there. Especially not after she got her way and broke up our relationship. There's no way I'm taking my daughter there, but it's bad for me alone, too.
I am worried and I just needed to tell someone. Maybe some ideas how to relax, and how to behave there? I will call ex-FDH to tell him I'm picking the stuff up, but it's gonna be more awkward to do it than to just plan it.

Can you ask a mutual acquaintance to get it?

I'm so glad for & proud of you for leaving this guy.

Thank you <3 Smile

I don't think that anyone would be comfortable with doing that. We don't have mutual friends, and acquaintances are not really eager to help if they don't have to-especially if it's a situation like this. I'd even feel uncomfortable asking.

I know one girl that would help, she's on ok relations with both him and me and I think she'd do it but she's not in town right now. I think I'll have to get them on my own, but the thing is that the feel towards me at that house will probably be very hostile.

I've read your previous post. That daughter is a little bitch. Is there anyway you can go get your things while nobody is there? Maybe when she is at school and he is a work?

Leave it until a day when SD is not there. Or ask exFDH to deliver the stuff to you. You have both split up, you are the one being put to the trouble of upping sticks and relocating your life, there is some onus on him to assist in the process. There is no need to rush round and it would be more dignified to arrange a date and time which is easiest and most convenient for you. If you need any day to day essentials go out and buy replacements. Do not give SD one more jot of satisfaction by allowing her to witness your removal from her home.
