Obligated to insure skids?

Glassslipper's picture

Backstory: BM was trying to bill DH for 1/2 medical insurance, and was trying to claim the skids cost 250.00 a month to insure.
DH was NONE the wiser to her tricks to over bill him.
So I sent him the information from my health insurance and said something to the effect of "WOW! maybe we should put them on my insurance for only 75.00 a month if her's is so expensive"
Well, then BM made some more excuses about not wanting to switch doctors, but eventually, she coughed up the papers and it was the same price as mine.

I'm all for insuring my skids, I have great coverage, low rates, it will save DH money, I love my skids, BUT!
BM is HORRIBLE! Restraining order horrible, always verbally abusing DH, showing up announced, breaking into my home and stealing things, stealing my mail, stalking our home.
And DH and her had BAD boundaries with communication in the past, and it took me 4 years to help him see his lack of boundaries was making our family the victims of her games.

So yesterday she send DH an email "FYI, my insurance is changing and the rates are going up and the coverage is not as good"
She wants to know DH's insurance information and mine, so they can find the lowest rate for the skids.

She is ALWAYS refusing to pay her 1/2 of expenses and considering the lack of respect and lack of boundaries she has (and DH negligence to enforce boundaries in the past)

Am I wrong to say :" NO! my insurance is not up for review because I refuse to put myself and my children in your co-parenting situation because of BM's lack of respect and boundaries?"

Not wrong AT ALL. This is between the parents. You are not one of them. it's not your obligation.

I agree, and its not that I'm not willing to do it, I just kinda want DH to flat out tell her
"because of your lack of boundaries and respect for my family and wife, Glassslipper is not willing to offer her insurance for review"

Then have him do that. Or tell him that & let him deal with her however he wants. Not your problem.

Sd is on my insurance. BM is crazy but not as crazy as your BM. I think she's also very stupid. SD had eye surgery. BM put me down as the guarantor. I doubt she even knew what the word meant, but I had to call the hospital & straighten it out. It was a mess.

See, and that's just where I DON'T want to be!
BM is out of control and I don't want to be in the line of fire anymore!

That's the same as me kinda, I just know Bat Shit crazy is gonna unleash her abusive shit all over me and my family if I end up in the middle!

I can hear it now
"Well if Glassslipper would have told me there was a co-pay for MRI, I would NEVER have done it, I'm NOT paying for it! your a bad father, you pay for it! and your wife is to blame for all of this"

I would love to save DH money and provide great coverage for the kids, as I do love them SO very much!
But the knowledge that I will have to get replacement cards all the time, and look up her questions about test and co-pays and deal with her blaming ME for everything, all that just makes me have a panic attack!

I need that distance, so badly! I need to cope with the anxiety and fear she has subjected my family too and the helplessness I feel as I help encourage DH to set some boundaries! Its been years of bat shit crazy and some days...most days, I just can't cope with it.

I really hope mine does too, its been a new boundary building situation lately, but she still consistently refuses to maintain boundaries. I'm hoping to see action from him to protect us and himself from her abuse.

Oh this will take the cake.
She ACTUALLY tells DH that she is taking the tip top premium plan at $$$ a month, and he pays it, BUT she enrolls in the ROCK bottom covers nothing plan, and then bills him.
When SD was hospitalized, the last information we got said 2,000.00 deductible, but we got hit with over 8,000 because she had them on the rock bottom plan but was billing DH for the premium plan.
We ended up paying half per the court order anyhow...

lol, I don't think my DH is shocked, or much less cares.
He seems to have an "oh well, she is gonna do whatever she wants anyhow and we are powerless to stop her or set up boundaries" mentality about this whole mess.
She knows it too and pushed and pushed and pushed, I have to find a way to take my family back, its out of control!
