More Bathroom Wierdness

Cover1W's picture

I know that YSD15 the other day took a whole bunch of the household TP down to her bathroom, like 12+ rolls. Um, no.  No hoarding of essentials that are kept in the cupboard for all to use.  Take some, not all.  So this morning I went down to retrieve some, opened her bathroom cabinet and.....

at least 20 emply toilet rolls, neatly lined up and stacked.

WIERD

I threw them out, all over the floor so now DH has to deal with them (she's at BMs for the next week). I'm tempted to throw in the emply shampoo and conditioner bottles in the other side, but DH said he'd deal with those and I'm not touching them. So now he can deal with these too.

She's trying to get out of doing household stuff (like bring them to the recycle bin upstairs or just throw them into her trash container) or she seriously has OCD tendencies - you all know I already suspect some autism....

Wow, how strange. And where did all the t.p. go?

Your SD definitely exhibits some concerning behaviors, with the bathroom seeming to hold a special fascinating for her. Does she obsess on any other bodily functions?

It's just normal TP use.  She's just been hoarding the empty rolls.

Yes, the bathroom holds wierdness. From lack of soap use, to exhorbitant quantities of conditioner use, she only showered ONCE in the last week with us. The toilet pee issue seems to be resolved I think. She's not used the cleaning spray or paper towels to clean up in the last month or two (it continued until around the time school started).  She will NOT ask us for any bathroom supplies (soap, feminine supplies - which she keeps in her bedroom, not the bathroom, kleenex....) other than shampoo, conditioner and toothpaste. At least she brushes her teeth once a day. She brings everything else from BMs.

No bodily function obesssions I can think of other than avoidance.

I confess to keeping empty TP and paper towel rolls. Yes, I have OCD, but there is a method to my madness! I cut the ends so they are foldable and stuff them with dryer lint, broken twigs, and leaves. We use them as firestarters. *blush*

That's a good idea actually!  LOL.

She tends to hoard things a bit.  Empty boxes, empty bottles, empty bags, now these. Her stuff is very neat and orderly but it eventually takes up a LOT of room. She's got boxes and bags of things in her room that just sit there - I've told her several times if she wants it out of there she can move it to the laundry room and we'll go through what to donate and what to get rid of. After 3x letting her know this in the early summer I just gave up. She doesn't want help then fine, she can live with it.

The firestarter idea is a great one...maybe I'll start doing that since we seem to generate so much dryer lint at my house.

No - she's not running out of TP any faster than usual.  Just the hoarding of the empty rolls is new.

The problem with this is she'll say "yes" - but she hasn't done cardboard crafts since she was 12.

And I'm disengaged with all of it so it's on DH to address.

She does have some strange issues with the bathroom. Out of curiosity, does she use the bathroom at school?

I agree that hoarding communal supplies is not okay.

Yes, she does use it at school - she HAS to.  She hasn't complained about it other than to say the school closes all bathrooms except for one at the end of the school day so clubs have a LONG walk to use it after hours.
