Dear Valued Users,

It's with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of StepTalk.org on August 31st, 2025.

This decision wasn't an easy one. For over twenty years, StepTalk has been a source of support for stepparents around the world! However, over the years, the costs associated with maintaining and upgrading the site to remain secure, meet current standards and maintain availability have become unsustainable.

We are incredibly grateful for your support, contributions and the community you've helped us build. Your engagement has made StepTalk.org a special place and we cherish the memories and connections made here.

We would especially like to thank Aniki for volunteering to be a moderator and for caring so much.

But Im still here and kicking butt.

"All inquiries must go though my lawyer!"

Im getting good at that, finally. After the Humiliation Party with the Insane (Inane) Clown Posse, I am over and done with any kind of uncivil Civil standbys for item pickups. I have complained to the local pd about their officers conduct that night, and Im now just over it.

However there are STILL people calling and texting on his behalf to get stuff. Like last night. I lost it a little:

"a resounding NO and F@ck you for helping him". And then a text "tell him talk to my lawyer". Then block yet another flying monkey.

Thursday he had shut off my water. Everything is now in my name only. Got my water back on before the weekend. Talked to some TRUE friends about the enemies and character assassination attempts. Im figuring out who is friend and who is foe. Most are Foe. Some are "nuetral" (wtf?) and a very few incredible folks are Friend with a capital F.

I am doing ok some days. I cry. Im lonely. Im keeping soberish. Getting through things with the feelings and the practicality of getting to work and home and the grocery store. My car was on its last legs, he has taken the 3 drivable cars, so I got a super cheap newish one. Life is manageable. Im living a very quiet life. Speaking my truth, but quietly.

Found out the person before him is up on charges of domestic violence also...! Ive definitely got a broken man picker....

Looking forward to when this is all behind me.

What he does is takes the titles, and when he sells the vehicle, he does a simple transfer.

But I dont know because I stashed them somewhere when I was freaking out.

Im feeling stronger now so Im going to do some house cleaning and do a sweep through, and need to get the assets list to my lawyer anyway.

Clove, you rock! You're showing so much strength. I'm sorry you're going through this.

I'm glad you're learning who your true friends are. The ones siding with your ex and even the weak ass neutral ones are unhealthy and it's best that they leave your life anyway.
