I have to admit that I laughed my ass off when I read your post (yesterday I think?) about your DH stomping around the house with his gorilla arms, slamming stuff down on his night table, jumping into bed, etc. I know it wasn't supposed to be funny, but I have brought this up to my DH SOOO many times. He is literally the loudest walker I have ever met in my life. And everything he does makes noise. He just doesn't know how to do things softly, gently or quietly. Unloading the dishwasher? Lots of banging and clanging, drawers and cabinets slamming shut. Getting ready in the morning? Stomping around the house, turning every overhead light in the house on, drawers and closets and doors slamming. Getting into bed? He can't just gently slide under the covers - he has to jump into bed, pulling all the covers off, toss and turn until he finds a good position, then turn on his damn phone, shining the blue light directly into my eyes, because he can't sleep without his e-pacifier blaring in his earphones. Anyone else know how it feels to be totally relaxed in bed and have someone jarr the bed so abruptly that your back spasms? 'Cause I certainly do. If I try to tell DH, he says that I am making it up. Why would I do that?

Sleeping is, or at least used to be, one of my favorite things. I love getting into a nice, warm, clean bed with lots of comfy blankets and pillows and just getting a good night's sleep. I guess that's a thing of the past....

rip- i thought of u this a.m. too!!! (and MFP, i WISH it was just "cuddling"!)

this a.m., dh had been awake for hooouuuurrrrssss... flopping around like a fish out of water, checking his phone for what time it was, getting up for the bathroom. i've been awake since 2 a.m. :O

after his alarm starts going off, he asks me if i'd like to perform a, *ahem*, "favor" of sorts. i said "No, dh, what i'd really like is to be allowed to effing sleep!" he honestly thought i had been able to sleep through all his flopping! i said no dh, i've just been trying to lay still in hopes of maybe drifting off, but i've been awake the whole time.

he at that time showed some nice consideration and went to the living room while i got my last 45 minutes of bedtime.

what in the world is it with their inability to move about quietly? *smdh*

Are we married to the same clueless DH, MaryFreakingPoppins? Mine pulls the same asshat move every.damn.day! And I'm accused on being "cold and selfish". Uh, no fukcer. I'm sleeping. You may have heard of it... It's that thing I do after Netflix and before coffee.

Must be a man thing!!
I no longer have this problem since i moved back to my house. A wonderful nights sleep every night now. My SO is slightly miffed that i stay up and chat to him on the phone late but when we lived together i would have to go to bed early in the vain hope of getting some sleep. I tried explaining i didnt sleep well in the same bed as him but he just doesnt get it!

My DH is a loud snorer. But if he can slip into bed when I'm sleeping I can usually sleep through it. But what he does is fall asleep out in the livingroom and then I wake up at 4am, see he's not there, and then wake him up. He falls right asleep in bed but then I can't fall back asleep. I need to just start leaving him in the livingroom!

If I lay on my DH's chest and he puts his arm around me, it is better than ANY sleeping pill ever made. I am out. Like a light.

BUT...he is a sleepwalker, although he hasn't had too much problems with that lately. He grinds his teeth in his sleep when he is stressed out. But the absolute worst? He sometimes acts out his dreams. He doesn't have the proper balance of whatever that gives people sleep paralysis. The dreams he acts out are always him getting attacked or trying to protect me. I get awoken by punches and one really scary time because he was choking me. He was freaked out even worse than me!

He also has been told he has sleep apnea. When he finally gets his big breath in, he will kick his legs or rustle around. Not to mention the really loud snoring. I use a fan even in the wintertime just for the white noise!

I don't want to sleep in separate rooms or even separate beds! I am hoping that once we get into our new place, we can buy a tempurpedic or sleep number bed to minimize the motion transferring from his side to mine.

I used to think that I was just getting old and having to get up to pee in the middle of the night now. Nope, it is because I am woken up. I went to my parents for Xmas one year and slept in a bed by myself. I slept completely all the way through the night. Didn't even turn much. The sheets were still perfect.
