OT - Tone-up Tuesday

Aniki's picture

Happy Tuesday, STalkers!! How's it going? Let's share some tips on what we do to keep moving.

  • Standing in line? Is there a wall handy? Do some "push-offs" - a sort of vertical push-up.

  • No wall? Work those glutes, baby! Clench and hold for 10 seconds. Release, Repeat until your arse is aching. Or do 5 ets of 8 reps or 4 sets of 10 reps.

  • Just stretch. Twist your torso as far as you can to the left, then as far as you can to the right.

  • Work your calf muscles by raising up on our toes, hold 10 seconds, then feet flat on the floor. Repease 9 more times.

  • Walk whenever you can. That means taking the steps whenever possible. 6th floor? Climb! Give yourself time so you can take a breather, if needed, and keep going. Don't forget to take those steps going down!

What do YOU do?

I now have a watch on my wrist... It keeps track of my steps... My goal is 12,000 a day... So that helps. last night I hadn't hit it so I basiclaly paced around the house until i did. lol. It holds me more accountable.

Good for you! I wonder if they make any that a) zap you in the bejeebies to get you moving, or b) beep louder and louder until you get up and move....

LMAO. Mine has an option to vibrate if I sit still too long... But i could feel that backfiring if I'm sleeping and I wake up freaked out because my wrist is vibrating.

No Tone Up Tuedays for me today.
Scarfing chocolate, pancakes, milkshake today.
No sugar for 40 days coming up.
I suspect bitchy-mode is going to happen in a day or three and people better watch out. ROFL

It is "pancake day".
(Shrove Tuesday)
Had them with kiwi fruit, strawberries and cream.
Sugar overload today so I have a mild headache...
I wonder if you get sugar-coated asprin?

I park at the back of the beyond lot.  I take the stairs (6 floors at least twice a day).  I have a standing desk so I make it a point to dance a bit as I work.  I try to do a circuit or two around the floor everyday.  At home I do at least 45 min on the eliptical.  And I have a new granddaughter who likes to move.  She and mom & dad are living with us while rehabbing their first home.  Baby girl & I normally do a few laps up and down the stairs and around the basement level before work & in the evening. I can’t wait for the time change & warmer weather so we can move it outside with the stroller & dog.

Excellent points. I have never understood people who wait for a parking space when there is an open space literally a few feet away! I also park as far away as possible. There are times when I'm in my car, driving away, only to see people still waiting for that space. SMH

Went to Zumba class this morning. I also booked yoga class for Sunday & Wednesday through the end of March. The fitness studio is adding more classes like a 530am class. Early but I might try it
