...definition of insanity

Step Up's picture

Is doing the same thing over and over again but expecting a different result.

Sadly, same can be said for me. I complain about the way DH and BM handle issues with their children, and I blow up, but I never really do anything about it.

I write earlier in the week about SD16 lying about her whereabouts, and how I had to take off work and try to find out where she was at. Since then, STILL nothing has been done or any punishment given - not once have they discussed with her anything about her actions, that lying is wrong, etc. Just sweep it under the rug.

Fourth Grade Essay I Noticed Last Night

Auteur's picture

While doing my walking at the local school district. Apparently the 4th grade class had an assignment on writing an essay about a family member. FAV family member, that is. Of course there were NO I love my stepmom essays. That goes without saying. But one in particular caught my eye.

Here is the synopsis:

I Love My Dad

I am taking my summer back!!!

NotJuneCleaver's picture

That's right, my summer. MY CHILDREN'S summer. No one will be coming to my house this summer and making us all miserable. SS has been living with his mom for 6 months. He is now a smoker, drinker, and pot head. After being absent from his life for 5 years ss's mother repays him by being his bff. There is no way he is coming to my home with his new habits. I told DH he can see him whenever he wants just not at our house. Luckily, he understands and is all to familiar with his son's antics. I just don't want this kid in my life ever. I don't want him around my younger children.

SD might not be leaving for the summer! *cries!*

Yep I am anticipating our BM being a useless bum again.

We had to pay to send SD to BM over the christmas holiday. Also to make it worse BM jerked us around to the point we had to purchase the tickets last minute to the tune of several thousand dollars. Granted I don't want to do that again this summer, but damn I need a break from SD. I can't do this all summer with no school. Would it be evil to send her to summer school if her mom doesn't take her? She could use the extra help.

SD's coming here again...

So, it's been almost 14 weeks since SD has been here. She's decided that she wants to come tomorrow night. I am really not happy about that. At least I know all I have to do is look at her the wrong way and she'll be gone again for 13 more weeks. I am going out tomorrow night with my kids and plan to keep them away on Saturday too, I hate for them to witness how she acts. Wish me luck Sad

Thank You all for your great advice, I finally made a decision to leave him.

I don't have to blog anymore thank you all for being there when I needed someone to talk too. I made a decision I told my Ex-finace to move out and never leave his children for me or anyone else. I told him he needed to get his life together with his children. I took Ya'll advice; you guys were right there is no need for him to leave his children for me, I a grown women and his children are just starting out, they need him more right now. Thank You all and may God Bless You! It's a tough postion being a step-mom and my hat off out to all of you.

I dont think Im the only one but me and my fiancee have gotten into some heated battles over me disciplining his SS4.
I have never raised a hand to him, tho I have swatted our BD1's hand a couple times without any incident from him. In fact my fiancee has congradulated me before on "well executed" hits on our BD1.

I think I am going to lose it!

This is my first blog...Probably the first of many, now that I have found this site. I am the divorced mother of 3 grown children. I have been married for 2 years to my DH who has his 3 boys FULL TIME. The BM has visitation but has been in and out of rehab so much that she has not spent very much time with them. When I first met my husband he was struggling to care for these boys. He was working full time and trying to run the household alone. I was crazy about him and wanted to help so I jumped in head first. It actually went really well at first.

And how the BM acts at skid's extra curricular activities; namely sports.

Here are a few of my recollections from the "early years"

See if you recognize any of it:

.

1. BM goes to game
2. Sits next to friends/family
3. Talks nonstop during the entire game seldome looking up at skids
4. Looks up for a nanosecond at a time to yell "YAY!" when skid manages not to kick ball into his/her own team's net.
