Dear Valued Users,
It's with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of StepTalk.org on August 31st, 2025.
This decision wasn't an easy one. For over twenty years, StepTalk has been a source of support for stepparents around the world! However, over the years, the costs associated with maintaining and upgrading the site to remain secure, meet current standards and maintain availability have become unsustainable.
We are incredibly grateful for your support, contributions and the community you've helped us build. Your engagement has made StepTalk.org a special place and we cherish the memories and connections made here.
We would especially like to thank Aniki for volunteering to be a moderator and for caring so much.
Thank you for being a part of our journey and we wish you all the best.
Sincerely,
Dawn and The StepTalk Team

Worse than skids
For me, the step-grandkid has turned out to be almost worse than the skids. I know it is totally a DH issue, but at times it is almost to much to handle. My DH WORSHIPS the ground mini skid (4yrs old) walks on- he gets the kid over here, every thing revolves around him....OMG....oh, mini skid, are you hungry? Oh, mini skid, can I get you some cookies, oh, mini skid, lets go to the zoo, movies, park, ....If anyone else is here visiting, forget any attention from DH, it is all about mini-skid. Sassy little fella too...NO!! I wont eat my dinner, I want a cookie, etc.......I come home from work, and am told to SHUSH!! Mini skid is napping!! Once I even asked my DH, do you think he can just play while we have conversations, for once can we have no new toys for him, no special trips, no tacos or pizza? My DH responded: “I want him to like me” obviously DH does not care if I like him.......
