Ridiculously Defiant Child - Begging for Advice

simifan's picture

Ladies, I need help as a BM. DS12 is driving me insane - deliberately defiant. What is worse is I know some of the stubbornness comes from me. He was sneaking extra time on video games, so he lost that privilege. Then he snuck on again when we were not home. So we locked the game system in our bedroom. He broke into our locked bedroom (& Damaged the door) to sneak on again. The Xbox was removed from the house. So, he is now grounded from all electronics and outside. He sneaks his laptop into his room & sneaks on-line. I remove the internet password from his computer. He sneaks onto an old laptop lying around. I delete the password from that as well. He sneaks DH old phone into his room which is still connected to the wifi. So, he is grounded to his room, which is bare. He has furniture, sheets and 7 days worth of clothes. I find him sneaking in a drawing pad that I had specifically thrown away - not once but twice.

Please help. I am at a loss. He owns nothing at the moment - what further punishments could even be established? I've tried taking calmly to him. His answer is "I wanted it." HE is not remorseful. He is not normally an entitled, selfish, stupid brat. Any ideas would be helpful because we can't afford military school & I have no idea where to go from here.

I did the same thing with my sd13 and it continued to get worse. all i can say to you is you should disengage....easy for me to say right? well no, i couldn't do i just couldn't walk the heck away from it all, the result was it continued to get worse so much worse sd went to live with her aunt. the point is disengage... for yourself, your DH. if you have the urge to say something do it when sk is asleep behind a closed door or in the car. It all got worse in my case... SD13 would say i wanted it. i don't care. it led to stealing and a lot of lying she started going to dhs on me and thats when i had enough. Try not to do it...the blame is hard.
