Another ZING just for fun....
A couple of months ago SD took of photo of me and used it as a reference for an art project she did in school. She did a really nice job on it; it was on display in the glass case when we went to her school sports banquet in December. Apparently she just got it back, and brought it home and put it on the wall in her room.
BM walked into her room and saw it and said "oh she's pretty, who is that?" (assuming it was one of her friends) "it's northernsiren" SD replied.
BM just turned and walked out, I guess there was nothing to say. Ladies SD told me this story last weekend, and it was all I could do to not smirk my face off, "Well you did an amazing job on it SD, you should be proud." was my reply. FH was totally smirking though, how could he not??? }:)

Along the same lines, FSD11 hung up a drawing (more like a doodle) that I had done a while back. BM stopped over for something & saw it, and she started saying how cool it was. When FSD11 told her that I made it, BM shut up & quickly left! (I guess that's one way to get her to leave!)
I say we need more zingers to give us all a much-needed laugh! People, share your stories!

yeah she's seen me and called me that
but the pic SD did was kind of abstract (one of those scratchboard things) so I guess she didn't get it right away, I'm sure she assumed it was one of SD's friends....
such the double whammy, accidentally saying stepmom is pretty, PLUS realizing your kid would rather do art about step mom than you.... ouch!

BM has never met me either and has no idea what I look like so that would have been precious. She has gone out of her way tonot meet me even leaving SS 8th grade graduation before everyone else. She also refers to me an the person my DH is " involved with" I wouold love to see her get a picture.
BM saw me
and almost shit herself! LOL! I'm a supermodel compared to her -I wish I had a camera to take a picture of the look on her face. She wouldn't even look at me after that and yeah I'm a tattooed a bit as well and she looks like a MAN! hahahahaha

Moments like that can't make up for ALL the crap we take from the SKid's, but it certainly helps!! And puts a smile on all of us SM's faces!!

I had the opposite experience
XH brought kids back Sunday and gave me a sheet of paper that BD had summarized a story on. At the top of the page she had written "My stepmom is so nice that I want to live with her". I guess she got the zing that time. The difference is she and I get along great and we can laugh about those things. I'll admit, it still stings a bit!
I have a SM tattoo question, since there are some other "tattooed freaks" here, would this be an appropriate place to ask?

No worries about rubbing it in, SM cracked a joke about how if I'd get a dog and quit making them do chores, the kids would probably never want to go to their dads. SM and I get along great and with a few exceptions, it's pretty easy. That's why the new BM problems are such a shock!
