Dear Valued Users,
It's with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of StepTalk.org on August 31st, 2025.
This decision wasn't an easy one. For over twenty years, StepTalk has been a source of support for stepparents around the world! However, over the years, the costs associated with maintaining and upgrading the site to remain secure, meet current standards and maintain availability have become unsustainable.
We are incredibly grateful for your support, contributions and the community you've helped us build. Your engagement has made StepTalk.org a special place and we cherish the memories and connections made here.
We would especially like to thank Aniki for volunteering to be a moderator and for caring so much.
Thank you for being a part of our journey and we wish you all the best.
Sincerely,
Dawn and The StepTalk Team
I did not get a SM after my
I did not get a SM after my mother died. Wish I had as my dad lived another 12 years. I guess no one would have him.
I liked it when he dated. Kept him out of my hair.
My best friend loved her SM so much that she kept up with her and took care of her for almost 2 decades after her father died. She begged her SM to come live with her in her old, old age.
YES! My dad is much happier
YES! My dad is much happier and independent when he has a girlfriend. He did date one woman who tried to use him for his money, but if she would have made him happy, I wouldn't have cared!
Interestingly, my father's last serious gf told him he had too much baggage, which he said is me. Odd since I'm married, have 2 little boys, and don't see my father very often. This woman's 50 year old daughter lives with her. I have to wonder about my dad's mind these days.
A happy father is definitely one that is easier to get along with!
I love my stepmom. She's 7
I love my stepmom. She's 7 yrs older than me (dad is 10 yrs older than she is) and I've never had any issues with her whatsoever. We get along very well and I'm happy she married my dad back in 1992.
My dad has it made with her, but since he's a raging alcoholic (well she is too now), he may not see what he has. I just hope they last. It's been since 92 already
