Dear Valued Users,
It's with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of StepTalk.org on August 31st, 2025.
This decision wasn't an easy one. For over twenty years, StepTalk has been a source of support for stepparents around the world! However, over the years, the costs associated with maintaining and upgrading the site to remain secure, meet current standards and maintain availability have become unsustainable.
We are incredibly grateful for your support, contributions and the community you've helped us build. Your engagement has made StepTalk.org a special place and we cherish the memories and connections made here.
We would especially like to thank Aniki for volunteering to be a moderator and for caring so much.
Thank you for being a part of our journey and we wish you all the best.
Sincerely,
Dawn and The StepTalk Team
Who is making this assessment
Who is making this assessment? Do you mean custody evaluator?
If you don't mind me asking?
Family consultant. The court
Family consultant. The court appointed it. We went into the office and she watched my partner and I with the children, then the mother and the children together. Then interviewed us all separately.
Anyone who was awake for
Anyone who was awake for middle school science knows that just the act of observation impacts behaviors of those being observed. Watching people when they know they are being watched in a place that they know specificially is where they will be watched is such a waste of time and yet another bullshit activity by the courts and the "behavioral" experts to interfere in people's lives. If you want to observe how people truly behave, have the evaluator show up as a long lost aunt and join the family for a week. Or.... load the house up with web cams for the week and watch.
In my layman's opinion of course.
