Thanksgiving Wishes

Hoping all here will enjoy Thanksgiving to the fullest.

As a 55YO SKid, as a parent, as a SParent... and all the love, responsibilities, anguish, triumphs, and anxious moments that those many titles bring, I wish you all the very best as you run the holiday gauntlet in the best way you can.

It's a time for family, should be a time of normalcy... and as Steps, we have our own perspectives that we know are probably best kept under our hats during the holidays! Smile

I offer The Serenity Prayer, not to spur religious talk, but as a perspective that gets a lot of people through the toughest of times:

God, give me grace to accept with serenity
the things that cannot be changed,
 Courage to change the things
 which should be changed,
 and the Wisdom to distinguish
 the one from the other.

Living one day at a time,
Enjoying one moment at a time,
Accepting hardship as a pathway to peace,
 Taking, as Jesus did,
This sinful world as it is,
Not as I would have it,
Trusting that You will make all things right,
If I surrender to Your will,
So that I may be reasonably happy in this life,
And supremely happy with You forever in the next.

 Amen.

And for the REALLY tough times, I offer the 23rd Psalm LOL...

A psalm of David.
1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever*.

May you find peace, comfort, love, and wisdom as you offer peace, comfort, love, and wisdom. What you sow this holiday, may need to be cultivated over time, that you may reap the same when you most need it.
