Best book on being a Stepmother

Hi All,

I thought I would share this book that I just finished. As many of us have, I went on a research rampage once I became engaged to a man with kids. I've read some mediocre books, and I've read some books that should never have been published. Most of the books I read seemed to have a "happily ever after" Disneyland type feel, which often left me feeling really guilty for my "evil" thoughts - and never pragmatically explained the whole process.

Well, I've finally found a book that really does setpmothering justice. Stepmonster, by Wednesday Martin is truly a godsend for us "Stepmonsters". She narrates her own stepmothering experience while weaving in research and various studies done on stepmothering. In other words, it's not just her story, but it's really a well written project with rigorous academic research to make her points.

I highly recommended this book if you're looking for a great read,

You may also want to read Blended Family Advice ebook- Your instruction manual for stepmoms and stepdads.

This ebook will help not only stepmoms, but teach dads how to support his wife in being a stepmom. Very comprehensive, with lots of ideas and also stepfamily experiences included.

Stepmonster was great for validating and understanding feelings, not so much with the practical assistance and help I found.

Step-coupling - Jeanette Lofas and someone else was really good with helpful stuff.

I'm definitely gonna grab that "Stepmonster" book and hold on tight..I need all the advice I can get.

BTW...do they have any self help books out there for hubbies with no balls?? Wondered if maybe in the back credits there also might be some info regarding, "strapping on a pair".

Kidding of course..:)

Aside from that and just a suggestion..someone should write a book named, "The Bubbles Outside Our Heads.." about the things we think but never take the chance to say. Not only would it be funny..but probably a best seller!!

Other suggestions for a book might be, "If Looks Could Kill...the Stinkeye.."
