Dear Valued Users,
It's with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of StepTalk.org on August 31st, 2025.
This decision wasn't an easy one. For over twenty years, StepTalk has been a source of support for stepparents around the world! However, over the years, the costs associated with maintaining and upgrading the site to remain secure, meet current standards and maintain availability have become unsustainable.
We are incredibly grateful for your support, contributions and the community you've helped us build. Your engagement has made StepTalk.org a special place and we cherish the memories and connections made here.
We would especially like to thank Aniki for volunteering to be a moderator and for caring so much.
Thank you for being a part of our journey and we wish you all the best.
Sincerely,
Dawn and The StepTalk Team

She needs to define
She needs to define "community" on her homework sheet. She could just make it up, no biggie, but she doesn't really know how, so I told her to look it up in the dictionary. She says "no. I hate dictionaries." So her dad got the dictionary... ... 15 minutes later...attitude and "I can't find it!"
She is 12.
When she was done she said
When she was done she said "here's this thing you call a book." I said "I actually called it a dictionary." (B!)
(thanks for letting me vent everyone)
GRRR! I deal with this all
GRRR! I deal with this all the time at school with students and always have to come up with some cute, motivating, clown antics.
Sometimes, I wish I could be in a situation like that at home. I would scream "high five", hug and kiss her, and tell her "thank you, thank you soooo much I have been trying, but for the life of me, I could not figure out what the hell this dayum thing was called!!! Girl, if you say one more dayum thing that even comes close to the level of intelligence you have just displayed, I will have to beg your father not to make you do your homework" "Why you ask?" BECAUSE ITS A WASTE OF TIME FOR SOMEONE WITH YOUR INTELLIGENCE, my DEAR LOVE BUG!!!!
That would have been better
That would have been better than me getting mad at her and letting her get my blood boiling
ha ha.
I so know your pain! I have a
I so know your pain! I have a 12 year old SD and she is a friggin nightmare!!!! Dad has full custody so I've been dealing with her grumpy bitchy ass for the past ten years and get so depressed because of how defiant and flat out disrespecful she is and can be unless she wants something..at least yours has a mom thats involved and whatnot I don't even have the luxury of sending this brat to her moms every other weekend she hasn't seen her in about 4 years so I'm stuck with dealing with her bs..not all stepkids are bad but omfg I HATE MY SD
Ugh. I don't know what I
Ugh. I don't know what I would do if I saw her everyday. I would probably have a lot of hobbies outside of the home.
Good luck to you!
