Dear Valued Users,
It's with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of StepTalk.org on August 31st, 2025.
This decision wasn't an easy one. For over twenty years, StepTalk has been a source of support for stepparents around the world! However, over the years, the costs associated with maintaining and upgrading the site to remain secure, meet current standards and maintain availability have become unsustainable.
We are incredibly grateful for your support, contributions and the community you've helped us build. Your engagement has made StepTalk.org a special place and we cherish the memories and connections made here.
We would especially like to thank Aniki for volunteering to be a moderator and for caring so much.
Thank you for being a part of our journey and we wish you all the best.
Sincerely,
Dawn and The StepTalk Team

I lived in Houston many years ago. Spring and fall usually consisted of a day or two - or in a bad year just a few hours. But almost no winter.

What is this rain of which you speak? May I have some, Please?
Too bad they haven't thought
Too bad they haven't thought of pipelines to carry the water from flooded areas. Wouldn't have to worry about a leak then.
It's ridiculous the amount of rain our area has had.

We just went through a few days of rain. It was awful!

Do you have A/C? Having lived in the deep South with a/c for over a decade now the summers don't really bother me. Everything is air-conditioned. I don't try to do Disneyworld in the summer anymore or anything else that is outdoors during the day.
Some of my most miserable summer experiences have taken place in Newport, San Francisco Bay area, Maine, and Boston when I was trying to escape the summer heat of the South. I invariably visit during the one week a year that the temps soar in the upper 90s and there is very little a/c anywhere.

My A/C likes to play 'duh how do i work?' when it's hot. 93 degrees outside, and it's been 78/80 in the house except the bed rooms and bathrooms.
