When I get home tonight, I will take a picture of Sheba's resting place in my room and text it to you.

You know you're in my thoughts....

Tuff, I'm so sorry about Grandpa. I definitely felt some comfort when I was able to get Mr. P's ashes and now have him at home. {{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}

I have a bookmark from DPW (I think, apologies if I am wrong) to an artist that takes some of the ashes and makes this amazing necklace. I've held onto it because I want to do that eventually. It's been almost 4 years and I'm still not quite there but this necklace is beautiful.

I don't know if I could bring myself to open the urn...

Friends of mine are trying to talk me into getting a painting made of Mr. P, but CRIKEY!! I can't afford it.

As I am older I have lost so many of my long term best doggie friends. When I lost my first love - who was the love of my life - I thought I would die from the pain. Seriously it was like being boiled in oil. It took me a long time to get over him.

My second dog never really bonded with me like the first. But I still loved him to death. I put him down within an hour of finding out his terminal medical situation. Unlike my first dog who I now know that I waited too long.

My third dog I really had no choice - he had spinal cancer that even the best specialists said had no good outcome. I had him put down right away although it killed me.

My fourth dog is now 10 years old. He's only 10 - I love him to death just like the others. I so hope that he and I have some more years together.

There's something comforting about bringing them home. Mine are going to be put in the ground with me.
