HA HA HA HA--Purely Delusional!

So as I mentioned before, Chef quit his HVAC small company job on the spot. He had actually quit before and worked at a competitor's place for four days before going back to the original company.

Which caused ALL SORTS of havoc for me paperwork-wise. The cheapo cell phone and activation crap (he had a company smartphone) The CS paperwork. etc etc. You name it. He had threatened to quit so many times followed swiftly by the owner of the company on our doorstep pleading for him to come back.

Yeah, he's good at his job but he's "tired of doing the work for other people whilst they get time off, blah blah"

UMMMM WHO DOESN'T experience this at their job???!!!

Toddler mentality coming through again.

So here were some of the low lights of this morning's (and last night's) convo:

Me: "You probably should take the jeep in, get parts for the truck and get it inspected"

Editor's Note: Both the jeep AND the truck are insured by ME as well as MY neon-after Chef insulted me and told me I was "too cheap" to get both the truck and the jeep insured--REALITY: Chef had ACTUALLY told me NOT to insure the truck when he purchased the jeep--he has NO knowledge of this conversation and told me I"m "making it up."

Chef: "Why???!"

Me: "You'll probably want to do some side jobs."

Chef: "You're making A BIG DEAL out of this. . .I can find a job ANYWHERE by FRIDAY!"

Me: "Normal protocol is to stick it out at a job and then find one while still working at the old job, then give notice."

Chef: "I'm DONE with that company!"

Me: "Quitting on the spot will get around; you'll be typecast as a hothead"
(which is VERY true)

Chef: "No I won't. I'm the best and I have experience and skill it's not like at YOUR job where you have to play white collar games ."

Chef tells me that one of his "idols" in the biz who has a GREAT job and a "Barbie" wife gave him a lead at a UNION job.

Chef: "I'm NOT joining a UNION! I don't want to be lumped in with a bunch of slack assed know nothing workers who still get their pay no matter what."

Me: "Isn't that what you have been complaining about at your NON UNION job?"

(Touche)

Chef: "I'm done with this conversation!"

Oh and he said he's going to do his own paperwork, cell phone activation and he doesn't know this yet but he's ALSO going to be doing his own damned taxes as well!

BTW I make absolutely FABULOUS resumes if I do say so myself and have gotten SEVERAL people hired with them--always with the employer noting how wonderful the resume is. Also the followup by fed ex the next day is impressive.

I put my handcrafted resume in for Chef last Saturday at the more preferred job. . .crickets! They simply aren't hiring even with all this cold and snow--people clamoring for heat!

Chef has got to be in the what... 40-50 age range? What person that age, has a hissy fit and just up and quits their job?? I'll send him a pack of diapers and a binky...

Ha ha! He turns 47 next month.

He did get an interview tomorrow with a ONE HORSE HVAC company. EXACTLY the thing I told him to STAY AWAY FROM!! I told him he needs to gravitate toward a LARGE company with BENEFITS!!!

The dipshit should have been gravitating to a large company with benefits oh, say, about 25 years ago!!!

Exactly! Probably one of the reasons that the Girhippo eventually sought out a white collar dude. The longest he's ever held a job with me is seven years.

I think he did break that record when with the Girhippo but that was because he was the breadwinner. Once again it was with a TINY company where the owner is the hands-on manager and less than 10 employees.
