I am a planner, He is a fly by the seat of his pants man

Anyone else have this frustration?

I love planning. Planning ahead, thinking of all possible outcomes.

My boyfriend is the TOTAL opposite and so is everyone in his family. I think it comes from the farming lifestyle. They never know what they are going to be doing from day to day. Corn is ripe. We are going to start harvest tomorrow. It rained. No harvesting. Now we are driving 300miles to go look at another tractor. It stopped raining. We are going to turn around because it might dry up enough to harvest. Combine needs a part. No harvest. Driving back 300 miles to look at the tractor again.

Holy crap. They just "go with the flow" of everything. Which I know can be good but sometimes it is so frustrating!

Um it has nothing to do with the farming lifestyle. I'm a farmer's daughter, granddaughter, niece and cousin - while they are truly at the mercy of fickle mother nature, they have to plan WEATHER into their plans.

I would say that some people are planners and some are not. Just that simple. Very much like some folks are savers and some are spenders. Each couple/relationship has one. In my household I'm the planner and the saver. My DH is a spontaneous kind of guy and a spender. Which is why I control the money. Smile

That's funny, DH and I are the same way and hes also a farmer though he raises beef cattle. Drives me nuts how he thinks I can pick up the entire household and go when he wants.

Ps. Does your bf also always need a new piece of equipment? My DH collects trailers like some women collect shoes. Offhand I can count at least 5 different kinds of trailers in our yard and now he needs another one for thw new mower he just had to have.

Hahaha! He and his brothers just bought two fancy mowers to share between all the properties and they just HAD to have a separate trailer to hook it up to...cant take those mowers on and off a trailer to store them, nope. They need their own so someone can just hookup and go...
