I'm no fashionista but...

I don't want to sound petty, I really don't, but I have to let this out.
BM NEVER buys new clothes for SD's. Everything the SD's wear from her house is a hand-me-down. Now, I don't mind hand-me-down's. In fact, SD5 wears a lot of SD6's old clothes. However, these hmd's are not worn, stained or too small.
The clothes BM recieves from who knows are all of the above. Since school has started this year everytime SD's come home from school from BM's house they are wearing either a shirt with obvious stains on it, it's too small, it has a small hole it in, and pants where the knees in the jeans are worn, too short, stained, etc. You get the picture.
Now, that being said, I know there is nothing I can do about this and I know because DH and I have tried telling BM these clothes are inappropriate. She has acknowledged but still does nothing about it.
I know you are probably asking, does she have the money to buy new clothes and the answer is yes, very much so. She and her H have good jobs. She just chooses not too because she keeps getting hmd's.
There was one instance where a friend of both DH and BM mentioned they had some old clothes for the SD's. DH was visiting the friend and took the bag full of clothes. BM showed up the next day to pick up SD's and asked where the clothes were. Shah, like we are going to give them to you! I'll weed through them first and throw out the nasty stuff and then the SD's can wear THEIR clothes where ever they want.
Anyway, it just pisses me off that DH and I spend a decent amount of money on SD's to make sure they have nice clothes to wear to school and friends houses. BM couldn't care less about what they wear or what she wears for that matter and I'm afraid that when the SD's get older they will start getting made fun of in school. The SD's have taken overnight bags to BM's house before but we can't afford to buy them a wardrobe at our house and hers AND who knows when we will get our clothes back so they can wear them over here again.
I also have to admit that I have kept some of the worst of the worst clothes the SD's have worn from BM's house. I'm not giving back clothes that are nasty just so she can lay them out for school the next day.
I'm no fashionista but I know style and nice clothes when I see them. I only hope the SD's will take after me on this one. Wink
There, it's out. I feel a little better except I know it will never stop. Ugh...

LOL!!! OMG, I can't stop laughing. Too funny, I needed that! I love that her favorite clothing item is track pants...ha! SD's BM's favorite items are sweatpants and logo tees! It's great! I love when my beautiful SD's come home from school wearing yellow sweatpants and a Snuggle Dryer Sheet t-shirt. Ahhh...what a life!

Skids have the same issue. And it's a shame b/c BM will buy herself new clothes but not her own children. If the kids came out of their house dressed in rags and we had somewhere to go we made them go inside and change. I started to actually BRING what I wanted them to wear. Well, DH and I were tired of doing all the work so he started to text BM before we arrived and asked that they be in something that fits, is clean and matches. Of course it wasn't taken very well but oh well. DH and I have standards and it's funny b/c SS5 will now even say to BM, "I can't wear that b/c when I go to dads house I need to have clothes that fit".... A 5yr old gets it but a 37yr woman doesn't....

While we're on the subject of clothes i could chime in about my SK and there lack of good clothes and the fact the we buy new clothes (shoes, pants, socks) and send bags of hand-me-downs. However i'll take it the other way...
When my X was still out and about he would call and ask to pick up DS once in a blue moon at the last minute and alwasy say "can you make sure he's dressed decent." LOL
A-hole hadn't paid CS in years and then demanded some thing from me.
Freaking loser's lucky DS had any clothes on. Of coures i wouldn't do that to my DS. i'd go without before he would but still the nerve of some people.

Yeah, that is some nerve. BM would never ask us to make sure SD's are decent. She knows better - they always leave our house looking nice.
