Hard to get new car since DH has to pay "alimony" to EX

So frustrating, it just never ends!!!

We are about to move back stateside after being overseas for a few years. We can't bring our vehicle with us so we need to buy a car when we arrive. We're looking at car dealerships on the internet and calling and applying for loans. DH pays a form of alimony that he totally made up when they were seperating - paying off and paying insurance on a car that HE bought, the EX took, DH took the kids because EX didn't want them, and EX wasn't court mandated to pay CS for about a year and half (before I came into the picture and was like WTF?!).

WTF?!

Does anyone else see anything wrong with this situation?

Question: what is the alimony for being married 7 years in TX?? I can't find it to save my life through search engines!!! If the woman cheats on her husband all the time they were married should the man have to pay alimony?! And he took the kids!!!

So as a result of him paying for her car and insurance through a loan we can't get a loan for a car that we need. We're not even looking at new cars, we're looking at used ones. Grown adults need a house, a car, and a job.

AGAIN, WTF?!

How long has he been paying it? How long is he supposed to pay it? Its a court order that he has to?

He's been paying it for YEARS now. It's done in OCT 09. Thankfully!!! But still, he's been paying it the whole time we were dating and have been married, so at least 3 years?!

It's NOT a court order!! He just made it up!!

Well if it wasn't filed in the courts, why doesn't he just stop? I don't see the problem? Am I missing something?

So does he just refuse to stop paying it?
