That was quick. The breasts are not distressed!

Rags's picture

First, thanks everyone for your prayers, support and best wishes.

As the kid coined after we went through this in 2014 “The breasts are not distressed!”

After registering she went in for the Radiologists review of the 3D mammogram that motivated this trip to MD Anderson.  They couldn’t see what the other Radioligist keyed on.  So down the hall she went to radiology and ultrasound for the full meal deal breast analysis.  She came out very quickly and back down the hall we went for the Radiologist consult.  They only did the mammogram and not the scheduled ultrasound.  I was thinking this is a good thing and DW was freaking out a little bit.

10 minutes later they called us in.  The NP walked in the exam room two minutes after we sat down and opened with “Everything is fine.”  She reviewed the Radiologists assessment of the just completed mammogram and there is nothing sinister in the Right breast. It was so clear that they canceled the ultrasound.

The left is also completely clear except for the calcification found in 2014 and the Titanium markers that were put in then.  This is the same Radiologists that she worked with in 2014 and who was supporting when they did the biopsy.

DW got a big smile o her face and the kid I teared up.

We don’t work without her.

It is a very Merry Christmas.

Thanks again for the support.  I appreciate it very much.

Phew!

Merry Christmas.

I went through this angst a few years back when my mom had a lump. She didn't tell anyone until she got the results of the biopsy back saying it was benign...because she "didn't want to worry us" about nothing.

I STILL went through the heart ache and worry after the fact...and then some anger that she'd tried to handle that on her own. I told her...you didn't spare me any worry and I feel awful that you didn't have any support. NEVER DO THAT AGAIN!!!

We'll see...she's stubborn.

I just told my parents ang got that lecture.  DW didn’t want to alarm anyone until we had more info and asked me not to say anything.  I didn’t say anything.

Her reasoning is that my SIL had a radical double mastectomy week before last and the family has been on edge over that.
