They must have redefined the defentition of the word EXCELLING

Dh got a call from ss's after school program(different than sd's as they had to be seperated due to their fighting) and he is behind on payment. If payment isn't current then the kids can't participate and have to sit in the office. So dh says he's going to drop a check by. This was at 2....when school let out. So I ask why not save himself the trip and just pick up SS at the same time instead of dropping the check and then having g to drive back to pick him up at 6. Ok he agrees to pick up SD and bs3 as well. First time ever getting them this early, but that's another story.

So I text dh to see how everyone's day was. Said that bs3 had a great day....but the skids did not. SS had a rough morning (whatever that means) and SD was mouthing off to the teacher and picking fights with her classmates....yet again. I made some comment about how the school behavior is getting out of hand again and this is dhs response. "I'm not worried about the behavior because SD is excelling at school and that's what's most important".

Ummmm...her mid semester progress report came home last Friday.... He signed it.....4 B's and 1B+. I would hardly call straight B's excelling. These rose colored glasses of his must be some powerful prescription. Cause...damn.

Especially since in today's time of grade inflation most people can get a B if they breathe.

And not that's there's anything "wrong" with a B. But it certainly is not excelling to be getting all Bs...... Straight As would be excelling....heck 4 As and a B I might even accept as excelling at school. But straight Bs? Talk about reaching to describe that was excelling in school.

And even still....as if that cancels out acting a fool in class to not only the other students but to the teacher.

I feel like the standards get more and more laxed as we get by...

Even DH, he thinks anything above an 80 is good.

Well, the asian grading system goes kind of like this--

A is for acceptable
B is for bad
C is for crap
D is for damned
and well, we all know what F stands for...
