I did something naughty

onehappygirl's picture

If you'll remember, the Wookie told my DH that under no circumstances am I to touch SD9's hair. In my head, I usually flip her the bird as I'm styling SD9's hair anyway.

However, today was picture day at school. So in order not to "get caught," I let SD9 go to school with unkepmt hair. We don't buy school pictures anyway. We usually take very good pictures ourselves in front of our tree in the front yard. But BM buys every single school picture the kids have ever had.

Let me just say, SD9 took a shower last night, did not brush her hair, slept on it all night and did not brush her hair this morning either. But she is wearing a very pretty new shirt that I bought her. By the way, SD9 could care less what she looks like. If I let her, she would wear shorts, a winter sweater and knee socks with sandals.

Should I hang my head in shame?

She tells me the same things..... You are at a rock and hard place with that.

If BM mentions it - tell her you followed her wishes.... and that next time things would turn out better if she was more mature about the situation.....

********She doesn't have to love me or even like me - it doesn't change a dang thing..... So get over it and move on BM!************

hahahaha BM can't complain when you're just following her wishes!! Maybe next time she'll realize how out of line she was to say you can't fix SDs hair!! Smile I think what you did was awesome!

That's great! Hey, you were just following directions!

BM here also buys pictures every year, but if she has the kids on picture day, they look like crap. She always forgets that it's picture day & the kids go to school wearing the worst clothes, hair a mess, etc. Sometimes the school loans the kids better clothes or shoes because they look so bad! SD9's spring school picture (they have 2 school picture days a year...no idea why!) was AWFUL!!! Her mouth area was all chapped & that's all you could see when you looked at the picture. Ugh! We never buy spring pictures, usually just the fall ones. But after last year's picture looking so terrible, we've decided not to order them anymore, either. That time BM remembered it was picture day & BM did SD9's hair in a really stupid-looking style (the same thing she does to her own hair). My husband & I hate those pictures! What a waste of money!

Wonder how BM is going to feel about those pics? Wink

It's the small victories that count the most aint it?

That's Hilarious! I wish my SDs mom would tell me that. When SD asks BM to take her to get her hair cut, she usually tells her to wait until our weekend so I can take her!

She actually admitted to my husband that she uses his child support to pay for her younger daughter's day care (he is not the father of that child) -- she has no shame!

She did ask you not to touch her hair. LOL
Might be worth it to buy the photo this year; just for the fond memory. Wink
