So, is this progress?

Loona's picture

A few weeks ago, my stepchild was away for the first time in a long time. In fact, SC hadn't been away in roughly 1.5 years.

In past years, when SC has finally gone on a trip or visited BM, I've been close to shouting from the rooftops with near delirious joy. But this time? I barely noticed SC's departure. I was completely neutral about it.

So, I've been left wondering these past few weeks: is this progress?

I like to think so.

It must mean that things are running smoothly in your household, and that you are certainly accepting your step child and learning to live the 'blended life'.

I use to celebrate when my bio would visit her grandparents, which was not very often. But hey, I knew she was having a good time and was safe, and I decided to do things that I couldn't do as easily when she was around..me and my hubby enjoyed those very few times. But after a week..we were both looking forward to her return.
