Declarations

So, as some of you know we are going through a custody battle and it has brought up some mixed feelings in me. On one side it hurts my SO to not have his son there 50% of the time. On the other side, I don't especially care for his son. I used to try so hard to like him and treat him like my own but there is absolutely no emotional connection between us. I'm helping SO because SO wants me to, not because I want to.

But yesterday SO's lawyer calls him to come into the office to get some paperwork that Moby just filed. Turns out to be declarations from her and her family basically saying (with contradictions to each other) that SO is a piece of shit and he shouldn't be allowed to take care of a rock, let alone this AMAZING INNOCENT LOVING CHILD!

Now the part that made me absolutely furious was the fact that they are throwing around baseless accusations and talking about things that happened 3 years ago. I admit that SO was not a good person back in the day but now he's a perfectly functioning member of society. I realize that this is their attempt to get custody taken away, 'except for supervised visitation' supervised by the very people that Moby says in an earlier paragraph make her feel like 'her son is unsafe'. Yeah, try to keep up with that logic.

I just don't even want to deal with their craziness and them thinking the law is on their side so they can get away with anything. Also, I don't know how many of you had tried to go through the state for lawyer help but it takes a LONG time (What a shock, something through the state takes a long time), they are surprised by this fact. They just make me want to smack them. Also, their declarations are all full of heresay, Moby's the only one who's witnessed anything and even those are full of half truths or all lies.

They make me want to junk punch them.

He used to be a drug addict and all that that entails. But he hasn't had any drug problems in a few years nor has he done anything illegal in a few years.
