Well, they lost

lawyergirl06's picture

Not me, not SO, but the kids. They still have to go to visits at grandma's with BM. As long as they are not physically harmed, the judge doesn't see any reason to stop their visits. Guess the trip to the ER last time didn't count.

WOW! The judge is an idiot. Is CPS involved at all in this case? If not maybe they should be contacted to help you to stop the visits or to have another supervisor appointed. I guess emotional harm does not matter to the judge either?

Sad

Was the ER visit over the bruised thumb? If so, the judge may have thought "kids get hurt" and it wasn't a "physically dangerous" environment.

I'm really sorry... I kinda expected this.

I kind of did too. I told SO that it was probably a 50/50 shot. His attorney keeps assuring us that a GAL is not necessary. Judge did reduce the hours of the visit though and made it clear that from now on, if grandparents do any transport they are not to allow the kids out of the car when they get to mom's apartment and if they do, that will be it.

Nope, it doesn't. Even the kids counselor said the visits were harmful to them but the judge said as long as they aren't physically harmed I can't stop visits. The only comfort I take is that she will now be emboldened to screw up more. Who knows, a hospitalization for her may be in the cards soon enough. Maybe then the judge will see that she just isn't going to change, ever.

Hello Judge??

Dirty overfilled diaper.
Smashed finger that required an ER visit.
Didn't one of the kids have red marks on the neck from BM showing him/her around the house?
The children arriving home in filthy and in tears.

What more does this nit-wit need to see that children were harmed physically AND emotionally??

I'm so sorry for these kids. This really sucks. Sad

I guess the judge feels by not allowing the kids out of gparents car that the kids are safe from mom?! Is it possible to get an order to have someone else supervise these visits?

Sigh.....what the F is wrong with that judge? Alley cats take better care of their offspring than the BM in your skids life.

I don't know. He's so unpredictable. I think maybe he's thinking I cant give her any less and without knowing for sure that she is drinking again, I can't take everything away. Additionally, the hospital refused to turn over the incident report from when she WAS drunk, without a subpoena and guess who didn't subpoena it.....I like SO's attorney, as a colleague, but I am not sure he really has his heart in this case because he thought it was going to be an easy one.
