On repeat...not my monkey...not my circus...

I'm on the schools parent contact list for the skids, no biggie.

Got an email from SD12's teacher, she has a 20% in the class currently, teacher wants her to go to Saturday school if possible (she's going to BM's this weekend which is an hour away).

Asked DH if he saw the email, he said no, told him what it said. He checked her other class grades ALL FAILING. He blocked her phone except for phone calls and text messages. She asked IMMEDIATELY why it was blocked,he told her, she said she was working on it, he said he'd unblock once her grades were up.

I told DH he should encourage BM to take her to Saturday school as a punishment...DH's response "what's the point in driving an hour each way when she can do the same work at home". (I swear DH refuses to dole out any punishments if it means more work on his part)

Not my monkey...not my circus...

I wanted to tell him that he should not unblock her phone as soon as her grades are up, as it's just going to happen again but I stopped myself...

Not my monkey...not my circus...

repeat, repeat, repeat

Gads. Next time your DH brings up something, nod, say Mmhmm or That's Nice and change the subject. Jeez.

The sad thing is, he probably thinks he took care of the situation.

When I was failing a class as a teen, the only thing my spiffy expensive smartphone could do (courtesy of dad) was dial 911.

SS15 is failing every class and hasn't turned in homework for FOUR MONTHS. I finally stepped in as I couldn't take it anymore. After all, failing school means skid is a loser who never leaves home. Over my dead body!

DH said last night, after less than 24 hours of SS15 not having his screens, to just give it back to him. I said to DH you are giving in and feeling sorry for him. This is what has led to him failing school and being helpless at life. Obviously your style of "parenting" is NOT working!

Silence.

I just don't understand the guilty Disney syndrome. I really really don't...

The Guilty Daddy does NOT want conflict with his golden spawn nor with the GU. His first line of defense is to placate, PLACATE, PLACATE!
Problem is the older the skid gets, the more he knows that "push back" WORKS and causes Guilty Daddy to fold like a cheap suit.

Guilty Daddy obviously doesn't mind conflict with SM, however. She is the most expendable person on the "team." :barf:

Oh he's told the GU to F off so that's not the issue. He just wants to coddle the snowflake. I told snowflake tonight though that it's no one's fault but his and I won't take this b.s. so get yoself straight.
