Just received word that the office space I was interested in will be available. Its a historic home on 6th street built in 1883. The developer has got arrangements to place it on the National Registry of Historic Places.

Yes, right now it is in disrepair and needs a lot of work but it will be one of the most beauitful office buildings in Springfield when it is done. My life is moving in the right direction!

Change of scenery and improving the quality of life!

When you wish upon a falling star, your dreams can come true. Unless it's really a meteorite hurtling to the Earth which will destroy all life. Then you're pretty much hosed no matter what you wish for. Unless it's death by meteor.

I love those old places in the midwest and east. I lived in upstate NY for years and had a 100 year old house and loved it, including all it's quirks. I just moved to a 1920's bungalow, and in Southern California, we think that's old! Smile Glad things are going well for you. It's almost a new year! I'm so looking forward to moving on to 2008!

And just make sure you complete the renovations (I assume you'll buy, not rent?) before the NRHP gets involved and won't let you paint it that pretty pink/purple combo you've been eyeing!
Seriously, it's clear from your earlier posts you've suffered through a tough year. Hey, there's nowhere to go in 2008 but up! Best to you and your daughter.

Architecturally speaking, they just don't make them like that anymore. There's a small coal mining town not far from me...the place is almost a ghost town now, but the buildings are magnificent and it's a shame they have fallen into such disrepair. My husband worked in an old building that had been rennovated and split into several office spaces. It used to be a casket manufacturing plant but you should see it now! Here's the link:

It's amazing what they have done with the place!

Best of luck!
