I'm Glad SD Doesn't Look Like Me, Buuuuttt......
Has anyone else ever had an awkward moment when you go out to a social event and every stranger you meet wants to ask questions about the skid...then they make comments like, "SD looks more like her dad." Then they start looking an analyzing whether there's any resemblance to you, the SM. So annoying :O

This happens to us all the time!! When my husband and me were dating people use to go up to my daughter and his daughter and saw "oh my goodness you look just like your big sister!" and we would giggle since they literally had no blood relation what so ever. One time I was picking up some medicine for my SD and the lady was like "awww she MUST be your daughter" and I laugh again because, aside from being the same race, we don't look anything alike either haha. Different eye shape, slightly different eye color, different hair. It's funny and I always just say thank you because if you say something it just makes for an awkward conversation.

They were like where did you get you red hair. well being adopted i just had to make up stuff. and now my sd gets told all the time she looks like me (we dont...) im 6'1 with red hair she 4'1 with blonde hair. it gets old. that is one thing i will never say to anyone..!

I never know how to respond. I normally just look at them like they're an idiot, but smile. I think people say 'awe, your kid looks just like you' as a compliment even when they don't mean it. I'm a super pale white girl with blue eyes and naturally blonde/red hair. SS is hispanic, tan skin, dark brown hair, dark brown eyes, no resemblance to me what-so-ever. People still make stupid comments about how he looks like me.
