Aftermath II

Getting tree and holiday mess finally cleaned up. Putting away ornaments...found TWO of the remaining three ornaments my grandmother made broken. One had been put back in the box with the top ripped off and the other one was on the tree with the bottom crushed. Eff me.

So I calmly found DP, showed him the issue and said to him that I'm not that upset about the ornaments but what's really making me mad is the girls breaking things and hiding the damage. The kitchen drawers and now the ornaments. He agreed that it is a problem and he has to figure something out.

We discussed broken drawers earlier and I let him know I wasn't happy how he handled it, basically he didn't know what to do since neither one would admit to it. I let him know that I suggested having them both help fix it that weekend but he didn't want to make them do it over the holiday. He doesn't remember that but he did think having them help over the holiday wasnt right...so I said, well when then? It's ok for us to fix it on our off time? Or wait two weeks until we have another weekend with them? No, I need those drawers.
So he told me I need to maybe repeat what I suggest. Ok, but I warned him that if he doesn't "hear" me then I won't just roll over and wait.

The book Steptmonster came today and I'm going to start reading it today!

Last year DP decided to "help" me clean up the tree and many, many ornaments were broken or lost. So last year I was more upset by far. He's not allowed to help any longer. Next year I'm not hanging any of my valuable ones that's for sure. Already thought about that!

Better you than me because I would have raised the devil if some skid broke something from my grandmother. Nope; no way would I have been as calm as you.

The only thing that saved me from being a raving lunatic was that I have several other ornaments from my grandmother that I love better. And that will not be on tree next year, but will be elsewhere displayed.
