The silence continues and SS doomed before he's started

Went to a school meeting yesterday for the new school SS starting in September.  Two days per week he'll be in class doing studies and being taught life skills.  Three days per week he'll be on a "job" learning how to keep a job, how to act, how to communicate/act/present himself, etc.  One day out of that will be volunteering at a charity shop.  It is all EXACTLY what SS needs and he's very excited.  The social worker that will be with him for the entire year asked him what he's interested in and he chose the library.

DH recaps all of this to BM2 and she was nothing but gloom and doom.  He's taking the easy way out, it's only a library, you guys aren't looking at the bigger picture, this is just simple stuff, etc etc etc.  DH was furious.  All he text back was it's not even started and you're slotting him for failure.  This is what HE wants, who knows what the future holds.  You never know what SS could accomplish and then ignored her.

What a facking tw@t!  The only reason it isn't good enough is because there was no mention of higher education.  There was no mention of getting a Masters and making tons of money.  That way BM2 could steal/sponge/take off of SS while he was clueless.  Guess what?  He isn't clueless and as long as any family member of DH's is alive, they will all make sure BM2 will NEVER touch SS's money.  EVER.

In other news, DH is unblocked.  And I am now blocked on her second account.  The account I messaged her on a couple months ago that called her out on her b.s.  It's been months and it just happened recently.  It must just eat her alive every day.  It's quite odd and amusing to have so much affect over someone without actually doing anything besides exist.

Stay tuned, there's sure to be more.  As always Smile

My DH HATED school, and was enrolled in a similar program, no higher education. I on the other hand have 2 master's degrees. Guess what? He earns more than me! Granted I changed careers, but he earns an easy 6 figures with no college degree. People always assume you need higher education to get anywhere, but a good work ethic and trade are equally as relevant and often a better choice!

There's plenty of work in Libraries if a person knows how to apply themselves, and Librarians can earn a really decent income!  I know a girl who's a librarian at a law library & she's doing very well for herself.  There are much worse places he could be showing interest in & I think it's great you & DH are encouraging him to take a program he's excited about.

I hope this new school really helps SS out and that he learns many life skills that will benefit him always. There's nothing wrong with giving this a chance and you never know something better can come from this experience. I wish him well!
