o/t my new years eve

30 days ago my mom had emergency surgery. She had a slim.chance of making it thru, and if she made it they surgery we were told we could still lose her in recovery.

Today at 2pm I found out that my moms liver is indeed failing. At 69, with congestive heart failure and hardening of the lungs she would not be a strong canidate for a transplant.

Meaning, I am indeed watching my mom die, and not one Damn thing I can do to stop it.

She made the difference in the life of her children, both step and bio. She took her SS in at 14 who was mad at the world, hated his parents and rightly so. She loved him unconditionally....because he was a part of her husband.

It was a different parenting time.

And tonight I wish that each of us were in that time era. So that not only can we love our skids but they can love us back.

I wish that each of us could know the love of a stepkid that would drive 5 hours one way on snow packed roads just so he could say I love you.

2012 is ending bad, 2013 will start real bad.

Im so sorry, Ive been here right around this time of the year and got to keep my mother. Well the shell of her, my mother died that day, her brain injury forever changed who my mother was as well as our mother daughter relationship.

I agree it was a different era when it came to step kids, sad but true

I'm so sorry. I'm only a couple of years younger than your mom. I'm starting to lose friends now.

I hate that you are going through this and feel for you. I just lost my dad like that in the hospital 4 mos. ago, it was a nightmare.

I am told that eventually we will be happy again, just pray for strength now and it will come to you.

I am so touched that your step bro is there and sharing this with you all. Praying for you dear

I am incredibly sorry for you. I watched my Dad die 24 years ago. He already had kidney failure and then was diagnosed with leukemia. He eventually stopped all dialysis and went in his own way. The watching and waiting was very hard on us...felt like vultures, but I'm very glad ot have had those 11 days with him.
