She is still living here....

Well it is August first...she is still here. She has saved zero money. But she is paying us 200 out of every pay check. Not that it makes up for anything...

She is still unbelievably lazy! She stays in the basement till she needs a ride to work....I am ready to tell DH that she needs to ride the damn bus to work or take a cab.

I am not sure how much she makes where she works...but she is walking over to the book store across the street from where she works and buying books to read, which is why she never comes up stairs when she is not working.

So, here we are three months later and she has no money saved. DH has told her she needs to be saving her money because she needs her own place etc.

I am ready to just pay a deposit for her and get her out of my house. She doesn't do anything but want to read and watch tv when she is not at work. She doesn't even hang out with anyone ie friends.

She can't go to college because she has a very low gpa and there is no way we will finance any loans for her she was a very poor student. She would not pass. Harsh but true.

Sounds like my ss20. Sits on his ass playing vids all day/nite.Of course he has no time for homework....this is why he failed 5 semesters straight in community college. Sad

We had our kids half brother living with us and he flunked community college! Yeah, it's astounding to me too. I am not the studious sort, I am a tad lazy if I feel like it too but this kid?! Room took a whole week to clean out after he left, every square centimeter!!

She could always find a roommate on craigslist... It's not too bad if a person goes and interviews them first. I had to do that back when i was in school and needed super cheap rent. Or, even at the schools there's postings for roommates. She doesn't have to be in school to fill a roommate spot like that. (they usually post them on some community board)

If she's paying 200 per check, i am guessing she probably gets paid every other week? You could easily get a room for that much or less. Then it wouldn't matter how many books she wanted to read or how often. Her roommates would probably love her. You don't always need much of a deposit either, and they are less likely to need to run a credit check.

Maybe you could pick up some flyers, or print some ads from craigslist and leave them for her.

The area i live in is pretty high rent in general and i could find a room for 300ish + utilities. I have a brother in another state who is paying more like $250 including utilities. Maybe if she sees it's cheaper than staying there she'll want to move.

It is a bit worrisome that she has no other kids to talk with, sounds a bit like she's using books to escape reality or something.

She has all kinds of issues not to mention extremely immature. We have tried our best to get her to "grow up". We had her in counseling....she refused to cooperate...it is so much easier to just blame all your issues and problems on others.

This is not a large community so its not like we have tons of people looking for roommates here.

She reads so much because she is lazy and doesn't want to get off her ass and go do anything else...try go making some damn friends for christ sake!!

My 8 year old daughter is more social than she is!!

She doesn't know how to maintain relationships....she thinks everything should just be brought to her and the world owes her and nothing is her fault....if someone dares to say something falls to her responsibility than she just starts crying and then most people feel sorry for her.

Its disgusting!

sadly this is the generation. I'm only 29 but my sister who is 24 and my youngest sister21 are both perfectly content scraping by and avoiding work. DRIVES ME NUTS! I havea FT (professional) job, mortgage, kids and responsibilities. With that said MY DAD pushed me , he was not around for my sisters like he was for me, (due to divorce and my mom being a bitter brainwasher- I was 17 and wasn't phased) so he did not push like I was pushed. I graduated HS and came home the next day, he said go to school, get a job or get out, I got a job, climbed the ladder, got married (BIG MISTAKE! LOL) and lived life, both my sisters had 0 structure or tough love and it shows. My sister who is 24 drives me nuts , works at wally world for little to nothing, and thats fine but she dosen't want to better herself, lives in a basement with her mooching fiancee who doesn't work and is fine with it. ITS THE GENERATION, the ME generation! drives me nuts! Kick her ass out and let her drown, she'll shape up fast~ My other sister is 21 and doesn't work (watches my kids for my ex) I refuse to pay her to watch my kids on my days because she needs to get out in the world and get a REAL JOB. But my ex can't help himself and is a lazy jerk so he uses her and she of course will take his 200 every other week cause she takes care of the kids and lays around the house. ugh!
