My dd wanted me to write her a note so she can be late to school yesterday. WHY you might ask? She wanted to drop her bf's vday present off at his school. I told her I was not going to write her note but I wasn't going to tell her she couldn't do it. She wants to be treated like an adult so she can make her own choices and she can either reap the benefits or consequences of her choices. Either it was her choice as to what she does.

So she came home from school yesterday and I asked her what she got from her bf. She said that he didn't drop anything off at school. I told her that she dropped his stuff but he couldn't do it for her? She said she didn't drop it off b/c she didn't want a tardy. LOL I am laughing my butt off right now!

That is how you get your kids to think for themselves! And for them to be independent adults and to make their own choices. So since she HAD to make that choice she choose not to be late. LOL
