What the heck is wrong with some kids...

Ninji's picture

SD10 had two kids from the neighborhood in her room playing XBox. The older boy is 9 and the younger boy is 6ish.

The older boy comes pretty much running out of her room dragging the younger boy and they leave. I figured he did something wrong.

Turns out he got mad and threw the controller at SD and it split a gash in her eyebrow right over her eye. So BF has her at the emergency room right now and she has to get stitches.

This seriously has me upset. The kid ran right by me and didn't even bother to tell me she was in her room hurt.

I know the kid is staying with his grandparents because his mom is working. Should I go and talk to the grandparents, or just tell the kid next time he tries to come over that he's not welcome?

I know that I would want to know if our kids had hurt someone.

I agree that I don't know the whole story but the thing that really bothers me is that he didn't stop and tell me she was hurt before he ran out of the house. I am going to talk to the GPs as soon as SD and BF get home. I plan to be calm about it. Blah I hate this.

Yep definitely inform the grandparents. Hopefully the mother and Granny aren't in the "my kid/grandkid, right or wrong" category.

I definitely feel that lots of kids today being raised up with guilty parents have a serious lack of conscience and empathy for others.
