Passive aggressive bm

Ugh. Why can't bm just let us make our own decisions and let Dh parent how he wants? The skids were invited to a sleepover tomorrow night. Their friend's mom texted bm and me because she wasn't sure who had them. I said we did, thanked her and told her we would check our schedule and let her know.

Bm sends out a group text to me, Dh and her fiancé, going on and on about how she's so possessive of her weekends and SHE wouldn't send them for a sleepover because she loves them soooo much and could never give up time with them. But then tells us to do whatever we want because people are different. Ugh. I really wanted to call her out, but Dh just said that sleepovers and being social with their friends is an important part of growing up too and we would see.

I really can't stand that kind of crap. We have a civil relationship, but she always has to out in those slight digs and then denies any implications of things she says. We aren't going to keep the kids from ever doing things with friends because their parents are divorced. That's not fair. They see us a lot and love coming here, but they're growing up and want to hang out with friends too. It's a good and healthy thing. It doesn't mean we don't love them. Everything with her has to be a competition and she always has to tell us how she would do things. We are either spoiling them or not doing enough for them. Never right in her eyes. We ignore and don't start with her, which is what she wants, but it's exhausting and stressful. I just want peace and to get along. Sorry, we aren't kid worshippers, even our own bios. We love all of the kids, but also want them to grow up and be independent and social.

Do we just keep ignoring or should we ask her to keep her "advice" to herself?

Wel what is crazy is that ss just slept over at this kid's house a few weeks ago on bm's day! lol. I guess I'm too much of a people pleaser. Even though I know what she's saying makes no sense, part of me hates when she's mad or disapproves of us. Sounds ridiculous I know!

Personally, I'd ignore her. People like that are hoping and praying for you to engage.

Oh, and she's an idiot.

That's all. Smile
